<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It wouldn't be shocking if Emeka Okafor signs a one-year qualifying offer (for about $7 million) that would make him an unrestricted free agent a year from now. If he was willing to take the risk to become a restricted free agent, then why wouldn't he take the next step by playing out his rookie obligation this season? The lingering question: Would another team have both the salary-cap room and desire to pay him more than the Bobcats already have offered?</div> The Charlotte Observer
I have mixed feelings about Okafor. I think he should stay in Charlotte because it would be nice for him to finally see the Catz win but he also has some injury problems that might affect a future contract. After GS getting Turiaf and the Clippers getting Camby, both teams are out of the running for him IMHO
I hear the offer he got was less than what they offered him last year. I don't understand why he turned that down.
