Each year, it is fair to say the Uefa champions League final is the largest most anticipated final of the professional football calendar and will have a sell out crowd at whichever ground in whichever country, regardless of the respected teams. Teams from Italy, Spain and England are most likely to get to the final So why is it each year Uefa decide to host the final in country far from mainland Europe Greece, Turkey and next year Russia. Past disasters such as Heysel stadium disaster in 1985 saw Uefa bring in more stringent laws as well as asses suitable grounds for such events, however concerns were raised by both teams regarding the suitability of the stadium before the 1985 final, it wasn?t until something happened that Uefa took notice. With new stadiums being almost like a fashion trend for top clubs, there is no shortage to top quality stadiums to choose from, Newly refurbished Olympic stadium in Athens prime example, Uefa are now choosing top quality stadiums to host games however the capacity was still a little small for an event of this size (63,000 reduced from the 75,000 from Olympics) With more equal opportunities Uefa decide to host the Uefa cup final in a different city fans turning up without tickets (due to the small ticket allocation of 17,000 tickets, and 9,000 tickets sold by Uefa in Feb only to end up on the ?black market? to be purchased in Athens from touts) Athens Authorities did extremely well. Uefa are to blame for a black market of tickets, with final tickets being sold even before the knock out stages fans will turn up for the final hoping to buy one of these tickets. Uefa could easily put these tickets for sale after the semi final matches and still have a sell-out, sure there is no way of stopping touts but it would be a better way to distribute theses tickets once finalists are known. Will it take another disaster to make Uefa realise there ticket distribution only causes touts and fake tickets?

Probably they always think there right until some disaster happens hopefully they will deal with this before any more disasters happen.
