We've been getting better every year, Gilbert is young and improving quickly averaging 29 a night is very impressive. We're working on our defense and have fixed our depth problem. Jamison is getting better, and he showed that off in the Puerto Rico game. Caron, another part of our big 3, I can see improving this year and now that we no longer have Jeffries starting or even on our team and have DeShawn and Songaila, not to forget that Blatche showed that he has something to prove this year in the summer league. So the question is, will we win a championship with Gil? If so what year? I can see us winning one in 2-3 years as our team develops, however I want to see what other people believe.

All we need to do is surround the trio of Gil/Tawn/Caron with very solid role players. And I think we've done a good job addressing that problem so far this off season with the additions of Songaila and Stevenson. We still could use some big men depth, but its all about stability.
You will be lucky to win a playoff series let alone an NBA Championship...come on guys...not a chance.

A lot of things can change in 3 years, you cant predict the future.
um lol nothere's a lot of promising teams..including the wizards..but seriously when you have teams like Detroit, Chicago, Miami, Phoenix, Dallas and San Antonio that will continue to stay top teams in the league..you wont stand a chance

We'll probably match up to our victory total from 2 seasons ago with the talent we have.
THey will have a pretty decent chance in an few years when Gil hits his true prime. And they have one of the best benches in the leaugue. As long as they keep that together they have a chance.

Jarvis Hayes hasn't kept his ass off the IR, since his rookie year. We don't have a lot of veteran experience on the bench except for Antonio Daniels who's the only consistant guy on the bench depending on Darius Songaila. Teams like the Mavs and Heat have better benches than we do.
You guys' Wizards team has LOTS of talent. I like your players very much. But there's a few very good teams in the East right now, and I can't see in happening soon because of the amount of talent in other parts of the league.

I think we could win, but that is a long shot, we probably have a 5% chance

Antonio Daniels as you said has experience and is consistant but Darius Songaila has also showed that he can really accomplish something coming off the bench with Chicago. We have DeShawn now, who is possibely starting, either DeShawn or Hayes, and don't forget how Blatche did in the summer league. We have Booth who works well off the bench. Also don't forget Pecherov who may become useful within the years to come. We have a future Ming, you're not much of a homer.

Knowing Hayes, he'll get hurt again, maybe not as bad as the last time, but he'll be out for a while again. DeShawn Stevenson is going to be starting, so Caron Butler doesn't have to play the 2, and Blatche isn't garunteed that he'll do well this season. Calvin Booth? Are you serious? He's only played 33 games last year, he's been injured and inactive throughout his career, hasn't benefitted the Wizards whatsoever, what makes you think he'll do well for us? If you're going to talk about the bench, talk about guys like Michael Ruffin who comes in and does the dirty work. He comes in every night, and never fails to do his job getting the second chance opportunities and guarding the big men. But talking about Calvin Booth? You must be on crack.

Blatche, I never said he will become one of our main guys off hte bench but he is something to look out for.
Hayes said somewhere that he's more comfortable off the bench. It's good for us because there is a less likely chance he'll get injured. Stevenson will start for sure, now, imo.
Defense is the big issue with Washington, have the Wiz made a lot of improvements for that, I haven't been following them that much in the off-season.

DeShawn Stevenson has a nice defensive game, but not as well as Jeffries.
Stevenson is known to be a great perimeter defender, and is definitely an upgrade over Jeffries defensively. We still suck defensively as a team, no question. Grunfeld hasnt done anything about that, lately.
The wiz will NEVER win a championship with their current center position. They dont have a guy to go downlow to constantly. Also, Gilbert is good but Lebron, Dwyane, and others are better. And they are just as young if not younger. He is going to need a dominant big man to go along side him in order for them to have a chance.
