England dropped Brazil 2-1 at Wembley yesterday and Arsenal midfield engine Jack Wilshere was named man of the match for his typically all-around performance. Yet England U21 boss Stuart Pearce is insisting that Wilshere feature in the Euros next summer. Pearce is also requesting Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (now an established senior team member) participate. I understand it's Pearce's job to field the best team but the U21 is a development program first and foremost so what good will it do Willy and Ox to participate? Shouldn't Pearce be focusing on the guys that aren't regular first team and snr. national team features and helping them become the next Wilshere's and Walcott's?

Roy will block the call-ups of Wilshere and AOC. Good news.
