Seems pretty obvious that Wilson isn't going to miss many workouts or eat too many donuts. I think it's great that they are both working out so hard, but to me they have different needs. Zito needs to build his arm strength back up so his fastball can get up in the high 80's. That's the only way his curveball will be effective. Wilson needs to spend some time with a pitching coach learning things like setting up pitches. Either way, I see this as a good thing, so I'm not going to complain.

    Dumbasses.

Thats my first reaction to this. I suppose it can't hurt Zito's performance right? Wonder if Wilson has any mental toughness exercises Zito can do.

as long as zito can pitch .500 ball, ill be alot happier.

    lincecum 20-5
    RJ 14-10
    cain 16-10
    sanchez 12-12
    zito 12-12

Zito is the wildcard for the Giants next season. He'll have the benefit of Randy Johnson in front of him because it's tough for a hitter to adjust their swing during a series. Facing a fastball pitcher followed by a curveball pitcher can disrupt a hitter's rhythm. I think the rotation should be Lincecum, Cain, Unit, Zito with the 5th spot up for grabs.

Sanchez is playing in the WBC isn't he? That probably gives Lowry the edge to take back a spot in the rotation no?

My guess is Sanchez has the fifth spot until Lowry actually takes it. Noah hasn't pitched in a long long time, and they shouldn't be rushing him back anyways.
