When the Jazz eventually gave Jerry Sloan career win No. 938, doing so by beating the Los Angeles Lakers 115-107 on Tuesday night and breaking a nine-game losing streak, the longtime Utah coach finally tied legendary Boston Celtics Red Auerbach for sixth place on the NBA's all-time regular-season coaching victories list.
Predictably, Sloan was unimpressed with the personal accomplishment.
"I'm embarrassed to even have my name mentioned with his," the Jazz coach said, "because what he has on his resume is certainly greater than anything I've ever done in this league."</div>

Thats great for Jerry, it shows that he is really one of the greatest. Other than Red, if you notice most of the guys Jerry has past has had a lot more losses than him. I would have to say that Jerry Sloan is the greatest coach never to win a championship? Anyone agree or disagree?

With the win against Milwaukee, Sloan is no longer tied for 6th.
