i heard they might be a player for some of the bigger free agents, i could see them making a run next year if they can pitch well enough behind king felix.

Looks like we signed Jack Wilson for 2 years. He's a decent defensive player with some swing. Meh, anything beats having Betancourt.

YEEEEEES. Dustin Ackley is going to make a move to 2B. Watching a few games of UNC, I always thought he'd a a decent SS or 2B.

Hopefully he moves up the minor league system quick and sees some playing time by the all star break. I have a good feeling about this kid. He's a decent Strasburg consolation prize.

I would love for the Mariners to make a run for a Jason Bay but I doubt that would actually help us w/ our ballpark. Adding Lackey would be nice, but just resigning Beltre, Branyan & Bedard wouldn't bother me either. Mariners really need a solid #2 pitcher, and then another power bat would really add to the lineup. It was so hard to score runs at some points last year, it just became really frustrating to see.

Beltre? Depends on how much hes looking for.
    Branyan? Definitely.
Bedard? Sign and then trade him.

And I haven't checked, but maybe Mark DeRosa?

Dream signings: Justin Duchscherer, Rich Harden

Beltre may not be the big time hitter we originally signed him for, but you can't deny he is a great defensive stopper over there @ 3rd. Belte/Wilson on one side of the infield is amazing D, which is a big need if Mariners want to compete.

DeRosa is already 35, which worries me if he would be a good fit for this team. I don't think he would be a big enough upgrade to help us compete immediately. As for those former A's, I do appreciate their talent after they whipped us for years now. A healthy Harden as our #3-5 would be nice though, I think our ballpark would help him quite a bit.

It kind of sucks that we lost Jakubauskas, he was a nice pitcher for us last year.

I read Jose Lopez more than likely going to be gone before spring training. This doesn't bother me because he really doesn't bring much except for a bit of offense, and could bring in a nice payoff after a great statistical year.

Buster Olney says Mariners are talking to Nick Johnson of the Marlins, while they are possible trade suitors for Adrian Gonzalez and Miguel Cabrera.

Mariners have received many calls from teams interested in Michael Saunders, they better keep him, he's going to be good IMO.

Meh on Scutaro. I don't know that I'd give up Morrow right now. Definitely the "selling low" portion.

Here's the daily rumors, I'm really hoping we pursue Harden and Hudson really hard, while Noah Lowry wouldn't be that bad of a waiver either.

BTW --- Can this forum's mod sticky this thread and rename it to our "Offseason Discussion" Thread?

Is there even an MLB mod?

But I LOVE the idea of a Felix-Harden-Lackey rotation. And I still have a lot of faith in Morrow. I feel really confident in our pitching. Our hitting is what i'm worried about.

A friend of mine who works who works deep in the Mariners office told me that there MAY be a trade brewing between the Ms and the Tigers regarding their OF.

He said not to count on it, but they have made contact on both Granderson and Miguel Cabrera.

Also, they've contacted the Devil Rays in regards to a few players. Not too sure who though.

Take it for wats it's worth, but the Mariners have been working really hard this offseason :).
