Not enough time. I can't stand what they got in the first transaction, but we have to see how it plays out. BAD start, but see where it goes.
John Nash - drafted Martell Webster and Jarrett Jack over Chris Paul. Paul is all star and Hall of Famer. Powell and Covington have never made an all star game.
Will Joe take that as a challenge? I now have to rethink if Lakers fans are really unrealistic suggesting Westbrook for Dame. With our management who knows what will happen. By the time such trade happens it will probably be spun as we need to get out of Dame's contract, free up shots for Ant, and there just aren't many players that make so much - Joe just really had few options so we are lucky to get a fellow top 75 player like Westbrook.
I'm not sure if scorched earth is really cleaning it up.... I mean..... I guess it's a method of cleaning.
It would be better to have a monkey at the GM desk doing literally nothing than last weeks trade. Just let Roco walk in the summer and keep or trade Norm later. Instead we now got 3 scrubs earning 11 million next season and no way to replace the 2 lost starters. Just because Neil had downside to his moves and shortfalls of his roster construction, doesn't mean a new GM needs to do an even crappier job dismantling it.
PatterNash had a strategy that was clearly dumb right from the beginning. They put together a terrible roster and passed over a HoFer or two along the way. Cronin has stated he wants to build around Dame and CJ--another strategy that's dumb right from the beginning. He hasn't had a chance to demonstrate active incompetence the way PatterNash did for some time, and even his trade (which was so frustrating) is cleaning up a mess while he tends to, basically, an empty cupboard. It's too early to tell for sure, but PatterNash was terrible and I don't think Cronin will be around long enough to match the damage they did.
