Does Meyers already fall in this category? He had 4 years to prove something, didnt, and still got an extension. And now on year 5 (and year 1 of the new contract) he has still proven nothing but a slow ass shot, 1 game every month of respectable play, and a lifetime of boneheaded plays. Has there been worse contract extensions and do you believe meyers could top this list in 3 years?
Miles was the worst by far. At least Meyers is trying and not showing up to practice smelling like Vodka.
Miles was still hurting the team long after he was off the roster. http://www.blazersedge.com/2009/1/9/715182/darius-miles-situation-exp
Brandon Roy. Signed the extension and the next day his knees turned to dust. Yeah, but Miles was pretty bad. No one else even made him an offer and we totally overpaid. BNM
I was going to say Roy...... but he earned that deal, and we ended up using the amnesty, so the only person who was out the money was Paul. Oh well.
There were worse extension results. Meyers might take the cake for worst-conceived extension based on the information available at the time. Miles proved to be a knucklehead and suffered a career-altering knee injury after the extension, but was a 22 year old coming off a 16 PER with decent defense at the time of the extension. Meyers has never had a legitimately good year, turned down Olshey's offer to make a mistake signing after his mediocre "breakout" season in order to bet on himself, had a terrible season and still got the same extension, basically.
