The Las Vegas Wranglers© fell to the Alaska Aces Tuesday night at the Orleans Arena. Jerry Pollastrone notched the lone goal of the night for the Wranglers, his third goal of the season. Curtis Fraser, Scott Howes, and Wes Goldie all tallied for Alaska. Aces' goalie Gerald Coleman turned away 22 of the 23 shots he faced in the effort and improved his record to 24-13-1. Michael Ouzas allowed two goals on 37 shots and slides to 17-12-2 on the season. Neither team was able to score on their matching two power play opportunities. With the win Alaska continues on a six-game winning streak as they improve to 39-20-3 and hold the first place spot in the Mountain division and Western conference with 81 total points. The loss sends the Wranglers on a two-game losing streak as they slide to 35-21-5 and hold the top spot in the Pacific division with 75 total points.

Curtis Fraser tallied his second goal of the season and put the Aces up by one at the 18:53 mark of the first period assisted by Gary Nunn. Fraser was able to lace a snap shot high over the blocker of Ouzas after Nunn made a nice saucer pass over the laid out Wranglers' defenseman. After one period of play the Aces were up 1-0 but had been outshot 10-8.

Jerry Pollastrone tied the game for the Wranglers with his third goal of the season at the 8:12 mark of the second period assists going to Aaron Power and Tim Kraus. Pollastrone slammed home a loose puck after Coleman made the initial save on the point shot from Aaron Power. Scott Howes made to game 2-1 for the Aces with his twentieth goal of the season assisted by Wes Goldie and Brian Swanson at the 11:53 mark of the second period. Howes flicked home a soft backhand from just above the crease that found light just outside the blocker of Michael Ouzas. After two periods the Aces were on top 2-1 and had overtaken the shots tally 18-17.

The final period saw the Aces outshoot the Wranglers 20-6 and add an empty-net goal. Wes Goldie notched his thirty-eighth goal of the season late in the third period into an empty Wranglers net assisted by Curtis Fraser to give Alaska the 3-1 win.

Las Vegas now hosts Ontario for a game on Thursday before Alaska heads back to town for three more games starting on Friday.

The Las Vegas Wranglers© are the ECHL affiliate to the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes and the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage.
