on NBA jerseys? I get that they're marketing to China, but why now all of the sudden? Will they do this for every Chinese new year?

Also, I would expect more Chinese characters to start showing up in your everyday life, not just NBA.

In the next few years we're going to see a flood of 7 footers from China coming to the NBA. Some estimates say there are just over 100 7 ft players under the age of 20 that have NBA potential. Sure, most won't make it but if only 10% do it will have a huge influence on the game.

If the most recent TV deal the NBA just signed is jumping the salary cap up the TV with China could be double it.

God - just think about what it'd be like if they farmed 7' tall basketball players, like they do with other athletes. A 7' Jet Li of basketball!

Welcome to the new millennium where China is no longer some distant isolated country....we're actually starting to hear Mandarin spoken in American films now pretty regularly.

So we'll have an allstar starting lineup over the next few years with 4 Chinese 7 footers and Jeremy Lin

I'm surprised it hasn't happened all ready. I'm guessing that the only reason Lin isn't an all star is because his family is from Twain. It wouldn't take that much for a country of 2 billion to dominate the all star voting.

I hope they aren't starting a "Super League" in China like they are in soccer. China are rumored to be dropping major money for big name athletes this summer and onward. So maybe Curry and co are one day..... "F-- this shit! I'm off Bejing. Even if I can't physically see my way to the Arena."

I suspect that the real reason for Oden's Chinese contract was so that he could make "contributions" to the gene pool.
