This kid shoots way too much from behind the arc and he is .250 percent. He always settles for the 3 point shot when he should be driving to the hole more. He had an alright game today against the Sixers but it isn't always going to be like this because for the previous games, he's been shooting poorly. He needs to drive to the hole more if he is not shooting well. What do you guys think of him?
I haven't really gotten a chance to watch the Nuggets play consistently since the Iverson trade since my NBALP is at my apartment and I'm at home (damn NBA needs me to send my cable bill to them so they can "verify" my NBALP subscription to watch games online), but from what I've read over the past week or two... this guy is a gunner, and he can't shoot at all. A lot of Denver fans have been complaining that he sucks offensively, and that he is more suited as a defensive specialist.Obviously with Carmelo and JR Smith out a lot of the other guys have been called upon to play more minutes, be more assertive offensively and contribute more offensively, but Diawara really hasn't come to realize his limits quite yet. Sure he is just a rookie, and hopefully for the Nuggets he'll learn with time and prove to be a steal.Once Carmelo and JR Smith return from their suspensions I would hope George Karl (and more importantly Diawara) realizes that he shouldn't be taking a lot of shots... rather he should be out there playing solid defense, grabbing some boards, hustling, and doing all the dirty work for Denver.
This topic is made the day after he shoots 5 of 10 from 3-point land. But yes, screw last night. He shots way too much from deep. He is not a good shooter, he needs a lot of work. It is promising that he isn't hesitating, but he needs to step in a bit or drive to the basket. I don't like to put Diawara down because I love his defense, but this has to be corrected. When Melo and J.R. come back, however, there won't be many shots available for Diawara lol. Between those two and Iverson, his shooting days will come to a halt.
The funny thing about all this is Diawara was actually a decent shooter overseas. I don't know what happened to his shot.
Diawara needs to learn his role, He's on our roster for defensive purposes. I'm not sure why exactly he thinks he has a good 3 point shot when he doesn't. He only made 28- 102 three pointers this year, He needs to tone it down a bit.
lol. someone show him some antoine walker vids and he will see what 3 point addiction does to you.btw - I really like his name
We want him to be the stopper on our team to cover the star forwards/guards - Not the shooter that takes all of the 3 pointers.

After I go to Florida for about 2 weeks, my shot is iffy for about a week, but thats it.
OMG don't even get me started about him.Except one game this dude is AWFUL.The bench is awful except Evens who can rebound good.Daiwara sucks at shooting. Klazia not good, and same for Nahjera or how ever you spell it.Boykins get's taking advantage on on D to much even though I like him.I say rebuild have the bench.
lol bill walton and company were just laughing every time he would shoot the ball. it was kind of sad actuallly

He shouldn't be shooting any more than two three pointers each game. Watching him tonight against Houston was awful. He is shooting 33-131 on the season, stop shooting!
He was like 3-11 tonight, what was Blake thinking giving the ball to him with the game on the line? On a side note Blake played very very well in his Nuggets debut.

I was watching the game last night and he was hucking up a lot of threes. He bricked a lot of open ones too. He's not a very good shooter, and like you said, his best contributions come on the defensive end.

You would expect him to hit that shot, I'm sure Blake did.
On that play, there's not much time left for Blake to pick a three pt shooter. Don't pass it, Blake was already inside the three pt line, and to get out and shoot it will consume most of the 4+ secs remaining which wouldn't have been smart. It was a perfect pass, the shot just didn't fall for the rookie. I hope he keeps practicing his shots because he could be a Greg Buckner for us, although I hope he can be a Bruce Bowen.
