Funny- red beard is nowhere to be seen. The Padres turned him down a week ago, another overhyped Borass client.

I was kind of hoping the Yanks would have Keuchel to kick around. Yankees pretty much owned him only after being owned by him. Even though each yr he was either 1-1 or 2-2 vs the Yanx. Total lifetime 8-8 vs NYY.

What's even funnier is in 2015 Keuchel made only the league minimum while winning a Cy Young.

He hasn't been worth a shit since.2 good yrs out of 7, lol.
Asking way too much, too many yrs, for so little in return.

    from Yahoo Sports.
Red beard may be lowering his asking price in hopes of finding a major-league deal, per a report on Saturday. Rosenthal cites a source that believes Keuchel is looking for a one-year deal above the $17.9 million qualifying offer he rejected from the Astros last fall, though he’s still open to a long-term contract at lower terms than the original $150-200 million deal he was seeking over a six- or seven-year span.

Never has he been worth 20 Mil $$, never, and he wants 7 yrs, :biglaugh:

Keeping Gardner on the roster only says one thing...even with all his deficiencies......organization prefers loyalty than talent. Look. Gardner has been a very serviceable player, but he was never going to be that player to get to the World Series.
I was not surprised .org. kept him on. I wanted Brantley who was picked up by the Astros. But Trashbin preferred the cheaper Gardner. I am very much keeping Clint Frazier in the lineup. He has much more to offer than Gardner. It’s time for Gardner to transition to a part time bench player. Stanton is one strange anomaly. He has been in a word, ‘inconsistent’ though very consistent in the SO department......agreed, he should be traded but Yankee GM is too stubborn to admit he should go.
As for our pitching, there are too many question marks especially against good teams in this league.
But the jury is still out on this area. The GM is only to get pitching through trades.
And he is force feeding any home grown pitcher with little or no positive outcomes.
This trend has been going on for several years......the result being no World Series appearances.

I hope I am wrong. I do not see their present manager leading them to a World Series. In the end this move may be the GM’s worst. All this talent given little managerial direction.
This team will achieve despite their bubble gum popping manager.
This team may wind up with a winning record, but a championship still may be elusive.
( I apologize for my ranting).

    .....^^^^

    well stated.
I wouldn't call that ranting, I would call it the beginning paragraphs on the first page of a long introduction to come, for the 2019 New York Yankees.

While watching the Bums playing the Rockies, A-Roid was calling the game: and he stated "I wasn't very good at Pop flies, Jeter was great at catching pop flies; that's why he wound up in the stands on that Infamous great play", i.e. "The Dive" in the 12th inning of a 2004 Bosox game July 1st.

I knew A'fraud was holding out.

Cody Bellinger with seven home runs in 10 games. At this rate you'll hit 142 home runs this year.

Machado looks like one of the Disneyland walking caricatures of the Seven Dwarfs in San Diego. The one with his ears sticking out like Alfred E Neuman ...
He's going nowhere say hello Tijuana, feefittyfii for carnitas.

The Yankees ex- Prospect Shane Greene with 7 saves in 7 games. At this rate Greene will save 110 games.

I remember people posting on the old ESPN Board about how much better a players A-hole was than Jeter. Speaking for myself I always new that Jeter was the real deal putting his butt on line every day, every play. Time showed who the Mr. Yankee of the two was. A-hole in my view is the Franchise Filth, spoiled fucking Prima Donna more interested in his own achievements than the teams. I will also mention that many people and they know who they are busted on Girardi at every opportunity wanting him gone. Well see what you got in his place. I liked Girardi from day one '08 and though he did do some things that baffled he ran a good ship despite some of the rotten crew member given. Like Wells, Hafner, Overbay ect, ect. So good luck with Boner, the man is lost in the sauce. The Yankees made their choices but as we saw last year when Andujar came in and beat out Drury we could see Frazier knocking out Gardner or Stanton only time will tell. In the meantime the Yankees nee to kick Verlanders ass tonight. Verlander was pretty much thought of as on the ropes when he went to Houston then became superman. Reminds one of Clemens, left for dead by Boston, goes to Toronto and turns to Superman. Yeah if you are major league you are suspect.

    ....^^^^

I like how you pointed out the similarities b/t the two. I've long wondered how Clemens would of fared without steroids post Bosox days...

They beat the White Sox, the Cub scouts could beat that Chicago team. But I see the Yankees drw them at home after the Houston Series. Going to be an adventure to see how Boner handles that series. Given the schedule the Yankees should be at 6-3 or 7-2 instead of barely above .500.
