Judge needs to get his offense on par with his defense. Judge & Gregorius made damn fine plays last night.
Amazing Yankees are resorting to Rays’ “opener” strategy. Cannot recall ever that the mighty Yankees have come up short on starters throughout their whole system. Just does not make any sense. Hang your head in absolute shame, Mr.Trashman.
Those of us watching or listening to this game, we should be treated to multiple HRs in this bandbox called Camden Yards. Just curious to see how Yankees approach O’s rookie pitcher, Wojciechowski. After losing his first 4 starts, he has improved. His last win was a 5-0 shut out to those RedSux at Camden Yards. No easy feat!
Baseball is so jacked up, “no name” players look like projected power hitters of long standing. Next year should be a different story. Too many people bitching about the make up of this year’s baseball. MLB Commissioner will make sure the balls are changed. Imagine seeing several pitchers (especially those who know how to take advantage at any cost) winning 30 games next year! Then hitters will be bitching. I can just see it....the Verlanders, who are bitching today even though he has escaped the hitting barrage, will be in their glory. And as usual nobody is satisfied.
Wonder if Trashman has the “balls” to trade Stanton this winter? My guess is he has no balls to make such a mastermind move. The guy is fast becoming the second coming of Ells-f’king-bury. Trashman will probably hold onto them since he likes to collect damaged garbage.

Although it does show a lack of depth, this strategy has worked tremendously for the Yanks this year. They are what 9 and 1 using an opener. Probably better than reaching down to get the 8th or 9th best pitcher in the system. Times are changing and more teams are going with this strategy, not just the Rays and Yanks
^^^^^very true. The Verlanders will become obsolete the way GMs are running/ coddling their pitchers! Bottom line: Do anything to get Wins!
Oh i dont think the Verlanders will become obsolete...there will still be top of the rotation guys..but the 3rd, 4th and 5th guy in the rotation is going to get muddled with these openers.. things are so specialized ..with closers and set-up-men..now add another specialization, the opener....guys who have better than average stuff but not lights out closer stuff... the idea is not having an average pitcher face the top of the order 3 times in a game
Stanton has a long history of injuries since he became a major leaguer in 2010 with Miami Marlins. Either Trashman is ignorant......which I do not think....or he is negligent in obtaining this casualty excuse! In 2011...leg and eye injuries; 2012.....knee injury; 2013.....grade 2 hamstring injury; 2014.....facial fractures & lacerations after being hit in face by a pitch; 2015......broke wrist & hand to end his season; 2016.....grade 2 hamstring injury ending his season; 2017.....major injury free but he vetoed two trades with his no trade clause, one to the Cardinals & the other to the Giants. Enter Trashman’s Yankees. The guy has been anything but an MVP!
"Playing the Orioles is like a Sumo wrestler against an infant", or should be... I will miss the game. I have a 2 year follow up CT Scan, to check for being Cancer free...
