If CC can finish 4 innings (how optimistic am I?) , it would be an accomplishment for him. He has really
struggled lately. Then BaBoone will play his dangerous game of “Russian relief” of which one or more will
implode and put another game out of reach.

Oakland is idle so the Yankees need this game. I do not have much faith in Biggie nor in Boner getting him out of there in time when the Hershey Squirts start. Prepared isn't in Boners vocabulary so anything can happen. I'm also sure that if Romine is not placed behind the dish there's going to be some huge problems. Sanchez had a bit of a night in game two but there will be many more than necessary before it happens again.

Finally we get to see Romine. In his honor I think I'll have a Romaine salad...

Happ Lynn and Severino will start in Boston as per Meredith Marakovits.

I have said it from Day 1, it is pitching that gets you to the Big Dance. As of today, the Yankees are ranked 9th in
MLB pitching stats. On the whole that is not bad. But they lag behind all AL division leaders. They have given up 100 more earned runs than #1 ranked Houston. Number 3 ranked Tampa Bay has given up less earned runs (on their microscopic salary). BTW Boston is #5; Cleveland is #7. Only Oakland #11 is behind the Yankees.
Also, keep in mind Billy Beane accumulated several relief pitchers to boost the team’s bullpen.

David Cone is pitching Severino as the Yankees’ “Ferrari” and should pitch the wild card. But I think
Happ is the way to go. But many feel that Happ has the Red Sox number. Hold him for the Sox. Big question...
who has the A’s number? You gotta get past the A’s to get to Boston. This team and it’s fans had high expectations.
For me, everything hinged on their pitching. It’s been struggling. What is scary about the WC.....Oakland has a better record on the road than at home. Yankees do not!

Well I gotta get drunk and I sure do dread it,
Cause I know just what I'm gonna do.
Start to spend my money calling everyone honey,
And I'll wind up singing the blues.
Spend my whole paycheck on some ole wreck,
Brother I can name you a few.
Well I'm gonna get drunk and I sure do dread it,
Cause I know just what I'm gonna do.

86 degrees in warm Tampa Bay. Bases loaded for Walker. Pitcher is wild so Walker swings at ball in the dirt.
Wild pitch. Yankees take 1-0 lead. They need hits. What a wasted at bat. He helped out this pitcher

Andujar gets the “Bingo” hit. 3 run HR. Yankees up 4-0.

Let’s hope this game does not become a one inning scoring spree and “eggs”
    the rest of the way!
