1 year is a good low risk, high reward type of deal. He’s going to want to prove himself and parlay this one year deal into something bigger so it could work out great for us. So long as he stays healthy that is.
Kluber signing is much riskier than simply taking a flier on a once great pitcher by giving a 35 year old 2x CYA winner $11 Mil for 1 year... I obviously don't know the full language of the contract but it appears to be a big gamble for a pitcher who has only managed to start 8 games in the last 2 years. Don't get me wrong, I hope he pans out, but IMO, that much money could have been better served elsewhere. I would have much more preferred an incentive laden deal.
Eleven Million, roll of the dice, damn Yankees have been playing that game with pitchers for too many years. For the team and Kluber I hope for the best. I heard also that Cashman called out GT for poor conditioning and play. How buot kicking duds like Sanchez and Stanton in the ass. One comes to work and fails while the other fails to come to work.
This signing is pure hogwash by the penny pinching Trashman playing monopoly with the owner’s cash. This type signing as has been the case for many years will not get this team to a World Series.
