Outstanding win last night for our guys. You do realize it means as much as an 17 point loss to the Sixers. This is probably the worst thing that could of happened. Now you have a guy on here saying AC could become an AllStar after his play last night and others actually believing we are headed to the postseason. What happened to the next Karl Malone, Noah Vonlah after game one? Love all the PinWheel enthusiasm, but if you hold these guys to these unrealistic standards, you gonna drive yourself crazy! This season we will beat the Spurs and Rockets back to back and on a road trip lose to Boston, New York and Charlotte......just enjoy the teams heart and hustle and leave it at that. #PingPongBalls
I'm not sure whats more predictable, that fans overreacted to the win, or you made a post cracking on people overreacting. Or maybe me making this post about you making your post about others making posts. woah..mind blown.
The thing is, HCP, it's not that any of the players are going to be all-stars, except Lillard. It's that we have better players than you think, and we are really deep. None of the guys on the Bucks, as I said yesterday, are all stars like you think some fans believe AC will be. AC doesn't have to be. He has to be good enough to contribute, and a guy who can step up every few games. We're going to be like that - someone is going to step up each game, but we're not going to know who it is ahead of time. Are we championship contenders? No way. There you are right that talent wins. But the 8th seed is not out of the question.
Dude--look at my freaking avatar! Of course I'm going to overreact--on the positive side. But there's a massive difference between optimism and expectation. Let me know if you need me to break it down for you, or translate into EspaƱol. And FYI, @Denny Crane, he's talking about my delusional post from earlier today where I identified Crabbe, Harkless, Vonleh, and Leonard as guys whom I believe have potential to develop into all-stars before their careers end.
Maybe they can become all-stars sometime down the road. I'm not expecting it this year. However, any one of them might have a sort of break out season, given that there's nobody clear cut superior to start at 4 of the 5 positions.
Proof here that Mediocre Man has hijacked HCPs account and taken over his avatar....because this thread is not filled with HCP selfies!
And that was the point of the post that apparently got HCP's dander up. Draco was saying that we don't have the potential all-stars that an elite long-term future requires, and I was just pointing out several players who could very well be those potential all-stars in an elite, long-term future. And I didn't even mention Alexander or Montero...
Jimmy Butler was a #30 pick. He didn't look like much his first 2 seasons. Now he looks like an MVP candidate, let alone all-star. MVP? He might win DPOY and score 25 PPG. I do think it's putting the cart before the horse, so to speak. Let's see the guys help us contend this year and see if any break out.
Thanks, you're basically repeated what I've been saying - it'll be a rollercoaster season. Everyone here knows it's true. However, 20 wins is not a rollercoaster season, it's an epic disaster. My prediction has been that the rollercoaster ends us at between 33 and 35 wins. Right now, I'm feeling good, so I'll go with 35.
Well that's no fun. Are political analysts saying, "Let's see who wins the primary, and then we'll see which Republican candidate might actually have a chance to be president."?
Nobody seriously said Allen Crabbe is going to be an all star. You've been around here long enough to know what this means: [full mags] Allen Crabbe is going to be an all star! [/full mags] The fact that you missed that, or are repeatedly ignoring it, shows that your game is slipping old man. It may be time to hang it up and let the young pups start pulling their weight around here. BNM
Crabbe seems to have all of the qualities that you want in a starting shooting guard. 1. He's the prototypical 6'6 build. 2. He is a good outside shooter. 3. He seems to be competent on defense. 4. He's athletic. The guy doesn't seem to have an ego. He seems to be a good teammate. I like Crabbe. I think he could be our starter. I like CJ off the bench A LOT better than I do as a starter.
