The Cavs have been doing so well this season. Much of this is contributed towards James and Boozer's play. Gordon Gund will never see them play or see them at all. This is really sad, I think. He got a franchise changing player in LeBron James and he will never see him play. This really makes appreciate being able to see the Cavs play on T.V when i get to. Because you never know what could happen in your life. (i.e going blind)
Being able to listen to Joe Tait is all that matters to Gordan. He is a happy man, even though he is visual impared.
Unfortunately, Tait's retiring within the next couple years. Those will be some big shoes to fill (and belt!)
Not being able to see his team succeed shouldn't bother him a bit. He "knows" his team is getting ready to blow up. Bottom line.
I guess it is sad to a point. But like some others have said. He has Joe Tait describing the action. That's almost like having eyes. Living in LA I miss listening to Tait. But, I do have fond memories of listening to the Cavs games on 3WE on a little transister radio back in the mid to late '70s.
Gordon is used to it I think, and that's good for us, cause then, we'll get the roster we want to have for the Cavs
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Shard07:</div><div class="quote_post">It takes some kind of person to be blind and so successful at the same time.</div> Took the words right outta my mouth. His success while being blind shows the type of character he has and determination not to let a handicap stop him from achieving his dreams. The real thing probably pales in comparison to how this is all looking to him in his mind. He can feel the crowd's reaction, he visualizes a talented rookie taking flight. He's an all around class guy who deserves a championship, and we're on the way.
Remember the Muppets? he looks like one of the guys who sit up in the balcony onthe side and comment on the show. The one with the big eyebrow.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CANT STOP ME:</div><div class="quote_post">This is really sad, I think. Yes!AndTheFoul! you can listen to Tait through wtam.com. There's a big lag though, so you can't use Joe instead of the TV announcers. Someone said Tait is retiring soon. Is that for sure?
