76ers forward Thaddeus Young is hoping to receive a contract extension from the team before the Nov. 1 deadline.

"I would love to be extended," Young said. "Who wouldn't? I love the city. I love the fans. I want to be here. This is the place that drafted me. I want to continue my career here. But I'm just letting my agent (Jim Tanner) take care of everything. Hopefully, it works out."

Young is making $2.9 million this season. If he doesn't receive an extension, he'll become a restricted free agent in July.

The 76ers and Tanner "have had some discussions," team president Rod Thorn said Thursday. "It doesn't appear that we will (agree on an extension) at this time."
