some quick thoughts on lunch break: first thing I thought of: Alaska = oil some will use the name MILF. I think that's the point too. people figure that obama is good looking, has the charisma, and mccain doesn't have that, but now he has palin. also, he went with a woman, which was a huge debate with the democrats these past few months (will we take hillary or obama? ) and then, when we found out it was obama, will he take hillary as his vp? fuck palin and her abuse of power.
I agree w/ ROTR in post 13. As far as post 14, ZAE; you are the man! Seriously, Is she realted to Michael Palin ? Nudge Nudge Wink Wink Say no more
She is hotter than Cindy McCain & Joe B's wife. I purposefully left out HRC & Barry's baby mama.... or did I?
BREAKING NEWS: Bill Clinton is demanding a private meeting with Palin to "celebrate the new spirit of bipartisanship".
So when McCain dies we're going to be left with someone who has served 20 months as governor of a state with the population of 3 blocks of New York City as president. Great!
38 million people watched a guy who served half a term in the senate and has never governed anything accept the Democratic nomination. There are a lot of factors that make a good candidate. Experience is only one of many at this level of politics.
Let's say she ends up taking the job because McCain dies. I think she is an upgrade over GW Bush, in terms of actual experience. Bush, pre-president seems to just be riding the coattails of his fathers' legacy. Palin actually worked her way up in Politics from the City Council level, on up. Bush seems out of touch with small town people, Palin is actually from small towns. Bush is an elitist, Palin is not. Between the two, I trust Palin over W. Palin is all about ethics and stopping corruption. Bush seems to always be one degree of separation from it at any given time.
Interesting move by McCain. I thought picking a women would be smart even though this broad's views are different than most Hillary women. Like someone else said, voters are dumb sheep. Especially so with the Hillary cult. I've seen some of them interviewed on CNN, MSNBC, etc. and they basically use no logic and seem like the most selfish people I've ever laid eyes on. They don't care if Obama is virtually the same candidate as Hillary but with black skin and a pair of balls, they don't care that Obama and Biden are "the most pro-feminism ticket in the history of America". Even when reporters grill them about how their takes on the issues align directly with Obama's and McCain's are quite different they still say they don't want to vote for Obama. IMO this goes further into the major problem with Democrats as well; they don't know how to win. They're not team players. They have no killer instinct (except the Clintons). Picking Biden is the safe pick, its playing not to lose, it seems so typically Democrat. Now a lot of Democrats are getting their panties in a bunch because they want Hillary and if they don't get it they're going to whine and bitch and not vote. Shit, look at the Republicans- all of the right wing neo conservatives hate this McCain's fuggin guts but they're still going to get behind him to win the damn presidency. Now McCain makes a bit of a risky move but it could pay off big time. Hes playing to win IMO. The Republicans are going to cheat, steal, rape, pillage, the whole way through the election and while its annoying as hell its effective. Once again I don't think the Democrats have the grapes to do anything similar which is respectable but they're justm aking it harder on themselves. I'd like to think Obama will win because it seems like as the election gets closer I'm leaning more and more toward him but to me it just looks like the same old dumbass democrat looking for ways to screw up the election. He could have sent a big time "fuck you guys I'm taking this shit" if he chose Hillary. Granted picking Hillary has potential downside but IMO thats a move that shows you're playing to win and you want to tear the fucking head of this election. If he wanted to avoid having the Clinton's over his shoulder while he was president I can understand that but like Herm Edwards said; "YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!". Obama is playing not to lose and he just keeps giving McCain chances to keep the election close when it should not be remotely close.
If Obama picked Hillary as his VP and he won the election, his term would rival that of William Henry Harrison. Hillary would have him taken out.
I just read that she gave birth to a son this past April, or maybe 2007. Anyway, her son has down syndrome so I assume that will tug at a lot of people's hearts. Not to mention that it could nullify Barrack's passion for health care as an edge in his favor, as evidenced in his speech yesterday.
Well, experience is everything to the McCain campaign. And it seems very odd that the guy who has gone way out of his way to say that Obama is not qualified because he lacks experience to pick somebody with equal/less experience to take over for him should something happen to him in office. To me, McCain ruined all of the good work he did getting voters to listen to his experience message.
Exactly. If McCain had chosen Mitt Romney he would have been overshadowed, but I don't understand him picking someone who is younger than the guy who he is attacking for being young and inexperienced.
