Kind of like Barack? Maybe that's what they're going for- a candidate that represents the "American dream" or the typical middle class American since thats what Obama is pushing lately. She could draw in the "mother vote" because I think mothers will respect how she's a working mom with 5 kids, one down syndrome child, etc. She is, however, completely against abortion in any circumstance, I've heard she wants to make schools teach creationism but dunno if thats a legit claim or not. She was governer of Alaska which is nice but thats governing over a smaller population than Memphis. I think this will end up being huge because Obama's people are going to say "When McCain kicks the bucket while in office do we want this chick running the country?"
I do think the excitement over this VP selection will wane, but it is that initial bump that scares me.
I believe her approval rating dropped to 65% actually, but it was at one point 80%. it's sad. I'm calling this the "MTV race" because looks haven't been this important since the Kennedy/Nixon debates. This one is increasingly more about man vs woman, black vs. white, old vs new. Both the candidates and vps from both parties are mirrors of each other almost (not in their views on things, but appearance/aesthetic wise) , it makes me sick. bah. I'm on way way out anyway.
Catholic officials aren't supposed to be political, and really they aren't. At the same time, they're not too thrilled with pro-choice, pro-oppressive government, pro-gay, pro-embryonic stem cell research candidates that ignore the positions Catholic Church. That's not to say Republicans aren't much of a better option, considering they're pro-death penalty, and questions regarding the just war theory and the Iraq war (though I don't think there were any violations), but they fight for most of the principals of the Church.
Obama is the american dream? he spent the majority of his life hanging with dangerous fundamentalists, among which are some of the most militant and racist human beings on earth....one runs a church built on utter hatred of anyone not black, another is an admitted terrorist that says hes not above bombing the US again if he feels it necessary....and after he runs for president, he decides they are a liablilty and cuts ties with them....the man cant be trusted, he has as much charachter as a potted plant....
Obama is the American dream. Deadbeat father, single mother. Modest circumstances, Columbia U, Harvard Law Review President, Book deal, Illinois Seante, US Senate, and his Presidential run. We should all commend Barack Obama and what he's been able to do, despite his beliefs or ours. I feel blessed to live in a country where people like John McCain, Barack Obama, Sarah Palin, and Joe Biden can run for President and VP. These are all people that overcame unbelievable circumstances to get where they are today.
Despite all that education, he wasnt smart enough to distance himself from an admitted terrorist whos idea of justice comes with a detonator and a damage halo....he had to be told to stay away from that guy....yeah, hes the dream alright....
One can't just amorphously bond those freaks with him though. Dislike him for the views you know he holds, instead of conjecture. If Obama is some kind of raving lunatic, he'll get impeached. : ] Until then I don't think that kind of talk is necessary.
