The fighter formerly known as Jon Koppenhaver has been fired from the UFC. War Machine made comments pertaining to Evan Tanners recent death, suggesting it was a suicide and in some ways suggesting it was the UFC's fault for underpaying him. He also had a clash with UFC matchmaker Joe Silva after declining to fight newcomer Brandon Wolff. War Machine's two-fight UFC career was brief, defeating Jared Rollins at the TUF Finale and losing by submission to Zenko Yoshida at UFC 84. Here are his comments on Tanner... Source: 5oz of Pain
Well that Jared Rollins vs. War Machine fight was a pretty crazy fight, just as to how close and back and forth it was. I liked the guy, although he was a tad crazy. Clearly speaks his mind. (maybe a little too much lol) He is right that the lower fighters get paid little, and the top fighters get paid a lot. It would be nice if they could even it out some, but I guess the big names draw the big crowds. However if it wasn't for the UFC growing big time in the last 5 years, he and plenty of others wouldn't even have an opportunity to fight most likely. But he probably shouldn't have turned down the fight offered.
That's exactly what I was thinking. If he wants to be paid more, he needs to be the best fighter. Most of the crowd doesn't go to the fight to see War Machine fight Jared Rollins or Matt Brown fight Kim(although I'm a Matt Brown fan, he's a samurai, so I would go watch him fight) but again most people could care less about Matt Brown. They are going to watch the big boys fight, so it seems fair to me how they are paid.
I read the whole thing... he's a immature clueless moron IMO. I think he thought he had it made once he was on TUF and made the UFC and feels entitled to a lot more. best get out of MMA if you're in it for the money..
