I agree, what's the big difference from posting in other forums besides their own? They'll still be posting with all the people posting in their own forum, plus they'll be talking to other fans. That is why JBB had such a great community feeling rather than being separated like people on this site. For fans that don't have the huge community, like me being a Jazz fan, sometimes it just makes us feel separate from everyone else, which is why I didn't post here for a long time after the merge. At JBB it was me and Stockton as the only Jazz fans, but we still felt like part of everyone else because ppl would post everywhere rather than just one forum. The way it is now, it's almost like segregation, and they act like they're too good to come out of their forum lol
that really must have bugged you. I can't even remember what clothes I'm wearing without looking, let alone what happened a few months ago.
Or maybe its just that an entire community came over from one forum in a matter of days, and they're comfortable with one another and enjoy discussing politics/other OT stuff amongst themselves in their own forum. What is the problem with this?
It's not that they feel better than anyone, most of those guys have posted together for YEARS, and some of them know each other in person.
Man, it's like Deja Vu all over. Just so everyone's on the same page, I'll post the link to the other thread (which shockingly was just a few months ago). http://sportstwo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=119953 the really ironic thing is that the people that were the subject of the other thread also migrated from BBF.com.
I should add, though, that since the original thread I've ventured out more (to Denny's great dismay) and I've somehow survived. It's also easier to navigate with the newer site structure than it used to be. I was a big OT guy myself--I always suspected that the Nets OT forum at BBB/BBF was created just to segregate my threads.
Yeah like I said, I didn't start posting here again until recently, so I missed that whole thread....What site is BBF btw? Are they like S2's competition or something?
From memory... in part. People enjoyed reading your tails, or should I refer to them as antics? Lore... that is it. You're too old to tell tales or have antics. -Petey
Communities are communities. When we have thousands of posters a day, we'll have multiple large team oriented communities, sports oriented communities (e.g. the futbol guys are very sport oriented) as well as site oriented communities. There is no one right way and we are here allow people to post in whichever manner they feel most comfortable.
The only thing you'd accomplish by really complaining about this and attempting to "fix" it is to alienate those posters you have the complaint with, and making them feel less comfortable about posting on this site. This may potentially scare said posters away. I'd say just let them be, and if you have that big of a problem with it, stop bitching, go out and recruit more posters that will post around the whole site.
