I agree with you, they wouldn't edit PMs. As a former admin, you do what they would do though. If they have a problem with spamming from a site, they put it in the list of banned words, which then shows up as *********, I just previewed a post with sportstwo, and that is indeed what happened.
This smells like when realgm.com filtered out "basketballboards.net".... and "we"(bbb.net) didn't do the same.... Now they essentially pulled a realgm. Classic.
