I got this e-mail forwarded to me from a friend. Pardon the obvious grammatical errors.

It is very ironic. This really isn't the election for change, this is more like the election of who's going to work with the Democratic congress, that is, are we going to have a moderate, bi-partisan guy in McCain? Or are we going to choose a guy like Obama who will enable Washington to push through a progressive agenda.

The real election of change is going to be when we vote this people out of Congress.

But what about all the money Bush invested in Iraq. The massive massive debt that he gained during his years, and the large amounts of printing of money which weakens the American dollar, and devalues the hard earned-savings of Americans.

The Iraq war is not the only thing that ran up the deficit.

Biden says it's patriotic to pay higher taxes. I think it's patriotic for our representatives in Congress to stop funding their pet projects while their country is at war, but that's my opinion anyway.

The federal budget is $3T, it was $2T when Bush took over. A change of $1T. We're not spending $1T extra on the military and Iraq. Maybe 1/3 the increase.

With all the tax cuts, especially those during the recession in early 2001, receipts from taxes and other sources are up to $2.7T from $2T.

If you factor in Social Security and payments on the debt, etc., then discretionary spending (social programs, corporate welfare, farm programs, highway programs) have nearly doubled.

Not that govt. growth is a good thing.
