I really hope that he comes in and stands behind is "ass kicking" remarks.

He definitely has a different swagger to him than most euros.

I was there at the airport today, and the scene was insane. I was proud of my fellow Blazers fans for skipping school, taking an early lunch and doing whatever else they could to welcome Rudy to PDX. It was a great time!

Very cool you were there. I got a sense of the size of the crowd but were they orderly and subdued, loud, out of control?

I didn't see a thread welcoming you to the site. You have been a long time poster at BBF, alwys good to have another loyal Blazer fan posting here.

Thanks very much for the welcome. I posted in the thread about migrating from BBF. With all the best discussion happening over here now, it was really no contest.

The crowd was really orderly. Security had to ask people to stand behind the barrier on a few occasions shortly before Fernandez walked out, but that was pretty normal.

One of the funniest things came as people were getting off the plane before Rudy. As airline employees and passengers walked out to the baggage claim area, a lot of the fans would shout "Welcome to Portland!," clap and scream, as if the welcome reception was for them. Most of the people who walked by were surprised but had a great sense of humor about it.

Then when Rudy actually came out, several "RU-DY! RU-DY!" chants started up, and as he walked away, people began chanting "Beat L.A.! Beat L.A.!" That's a rivalry right there.

I was telling my friend (he was the one with the "Bienvenido Rudy!" sign) how funny it was that 200+ people showed up to greet someone who would essentially be a sixth or seventh man this season. I think it just goes to show why Portland has the best fans in the league.

The video of Rudy and KP at the Trail Blazers office is worth watching.

Remember the scene in Robin Hood: Men In Tights where Mel Brooks was telling the guys about that new technique, and showed them the carrot? Yeah, Rudy didn't have that done.

Let's just say that I doubt Rudy is Jewish.

Edit: The fact you don't get it speaks well of your character. It means your mind isn't in the gutter like mine is.
