With weekly games, I mean. Shall we just have separate game threads every week (home team gets the game thread, for example)... Or would you prefer one giant thread here, in NFL General, so we all can discuss all the games with one another. I think the latter sounds pretty good, until we get a larger community. But that's just my opinion. Weigh in.
I noticed cpaw did a general week 2 thread that looked pretty good. I'm going to have to figure out a way I can post while watching games at the bar. I might just have to risk taking my laptop along....
I'm cool with the one thread to have all the games discussed, but obviously if members want threads for their own specific game, that's cool too.
If you want to, by all means... continue to do so. I'll probably make Dallas game threads every week, too.
Yeah, still make the "Week ___" thread, it generates a lot of activity. But I think I'm gonna start a game thread in the Eagles forum next week. Hopefully we'll have more people posting in it and I won't be alone
Feel free to do that Lost One. I have to go to a bar to watch the games... and I feel uncomfortable bringing my laptop there. I might do it anyway. Last week, a friend brought his and I used it.... I prefer that method. But Ill try to do my best and help out there too. Last week, huevon and I had a good discussion going about the Colts game while we both talked in the NFL General thread too.
The Steelers, like cpaw said, will have on every week. The Colts do to, thanks to huevon. The Giants probably will too, because there are some Giants fans on this board. Bears... we've never done one before. Not sure how active it would be. Bucs... I believe Jacoby said he'd do one every week. As for the Cowboys, last week we didn't have one (we had threads the first two games)... but this week, I'll be putting one up. We are trying to grow our NFL forums and its a relatively new. That's why we had the NFL General thread, so everyone can comment. We'll do that again this week, also... in addition to some of the individual team threads.
I think the NFL forum is the strongest feature of S2. There aren't very many big name NFL forums out on the internet that I know of. With members like Chutney, Vintage, Cpaw, Huevonkiller, Jacoby, and everyone else that contributes regularly (sorry if I didn't specifically mention you), we've got a great NFL community here.
Vintage, thank you very much for the response. I agree that the NFL General thread should enable everyone to comment. I think you have organized this board outstandingly well. GMJ, LOL re the "Cowboys" comment. Actually, you might laugh hilariously if I said which player I like on that team, because of his talents (not the QB.) == Dodging == Which team are you with? I haven't figured it out yet. Black Mamba, I see what you mean about this being a great NFL community. I've been enjoying everyone's posts, and it seems members here are very affable and display a fittingly fun football spirit. Cpawfan, thank you very much for the Steelers thread every week! Woo-hoo!! Jacoby, okay you've got it. I will visit the Bucs forum! Now, you guys understand that I'm just a ladylike female, but I enjoy football and have some favorite players, especially Brett Favre! But I respect everyone's favorites. So, if I say something stupid, remember that you guys are much more savvy about football and team members. So, I'll always respect what you have to say.
My boys roughed up your man Brett the other night : ] I was there : ] As for the Colts..ugh, I'm sorry you like them : ] Anyways, welcome to the boards, I'm sure you'll be a positive addition to this tight-knit community of football fans!
a main thread for each week and then select team threads for people that want to make them or teams that have enough interest sounds like the best idea to me. i'll probably be around a little bit but i don't really do much posting during games. i don't have a tv in the room with my computer and while i have a laptop the roommates i lived with last year got into a fight and my laptop monitor was broken in the process so it has effectively become a desktop.
