Sam made a comment that he would like to coach someday, and I already knew that," Ainge said. "But we are working on a deal to bring Sam back as a player. There is nothing done yet, but we could get it done soon. "We always bring four point guards to training camp. We love where Gabe [Pruitt] is and we also have Eddie House. Rajon [Rondo] is our starter and they are fighting for the backup spot. http://www.boston.com/sports/basket...ics/?rss_id=Boston.com -- Boston Celtics news
It can't hurt to have Sam I Am on the bench IMO. He's better than Starbury hitting on the cheerleaders or repping his new (insert product) to the group of fans behind him.
We're fine with Rondo and House. Throughout last year's playoffs, the team played much, much better when House was spelling Rondo than when Samikins was.
Sam will be valuable on the bench, kind of like a mentor, then kind of as an "assistant" even though his contract will say he's a player.
Pop pop http://www.nba.com/celtics/news/blog/postups-notebook-2008-09.html Let's hope he doesn't screw things up like the playoffs last year. Though I wouldn't mind having him as an assistant coach after this season.
Cassell kind of sucked for the Celts, he isn't quick defensively, or offensively, and seemed to force shots. (which is good that they have Rondo and House ahead of him) If his lockroom presence is a positive one, and I'm guessing he is friends with KG then I guess it would be worth the signing.
I think the forced shots had more to do with him not running the offense than anything else. He won't be great, but he'll definitely be better than he was last year.
as in 16 guaranteed contracts? miles is not guaranteed. who would be on the chopping block with miles? who is he fighting for that 15th spot?
