I do expect Mayo to put up big numbers, but I don't expect him to put up more than Gay. To me, Gay is the face of that franchise and will be for years to come. I fully expect him to continue his progression this year and average somewhere between 22-25ppg, with Mayo coming in at 16-20ppg.
well durant shot .430, and it was more about his second half. if he played all season like the first half, horford WOULD have wone it. he averaged alot higher of a percentage the last couple months, and he started taking ALOT less 3pointers.
IMO Mayo has the potential to be a superstar and has the charisma for it. Gay doesn't possess Mayo's personality or charisma. If Mayo breaks out like I think he will, I definitely see him being the face of the franchise (as he will sell jerseys)
So is it bias that causes you to say this, or are you just delusional? Or maybe you're being sarcastic, who knows. That's what I'm assuming, but I've been wrong before.
You overrate charisma. You don't need charisma to be a superstar. Tim Duncan is living proof of this. Gay has the talent and potential to be a superstar, and that's what matters.
Duncan may be a superstar, but he doesn't have the "IT" appeal like Mayo does. Charisma sells jerseys. Duncan is a much better player than say Stephon Marbury, but Marbury sells more jerseys. Same can be said for Iverson, Arenas, Carter. (Those numbers were as of Jan 2007) http://www.insidehoops.com/jerseys.shtml
Greg won't put up the offensive numbers that Beasley will, but his impact on the blazers and the league itself will be too much for the voters to ignore. I think he will win.
Micheal Beasley! He has the talent around him that will make him shine. Rather than Mayo who is in a young team that's still taking time building itself.
So, if we combined the two conferences, and made an 8 team system, 3 would be from the East, and 5 from the West. Pretty even.
Nope. Carter is going to get injured, along with Bobby Simmons. CDR goes in and instantly puts up 25/7, Points/Assists
Too bad the playoffs don't work like that. And even in that standing, the conferences aren't even remotely close. I think it's quite pitiful that only a few teams in the Eastern conference could have made the playoffs out west, while there were 10 teams in the West that would have been playoff eligible out East. Ridiculous. And War Poet....good luck with the entire backcourt getting hurt in NJ, lol. For some odd reason, I just can't see that happening. Maybe Simmons, since he hasn't been healthy recently, but who knows.
