well alright my brother I'm glad you're with us. You can acknowledge that the analysis is biased. Now we are at a point where myself and cpaw see this sort of incomplete analysis as a negative, while another opinion sees it as acceptable. That is the difference, and reason that this thread has taken this tangent.

yeah...you did notice we are talking on a POR board right?

They want Oden to be a HOF C so they are trying to show what to aim for this year...its not that hard

You said you wanted to discuss the numbers. What is it that you want to discuss about them? Is everyone suppose to go wow, can't wait for the season and then move on?

Why are you even on here right now? Are you on here just to fuck with me? Are you even a Blazer fan. You know everybody came over here and they all complained about how bad it was over on BBF, but I was never treated like this in my 4 years over there.

Re: Big Time Centers Rookie #'s

Here I thought the object was to win games, not to inflate Oden's stats.

Aiming for any stats with a player that is such a defensive game changer like Oden is rather silly. Oden doesn't need to score to dominate a game, especially with the firepower on the Blazers roster.

Upon further thought I am really offended HCP. You are only thing about yourself in this matter. How dare you try to start a thread talking about basketball 3 months into the offseason. I want every thread to be totally relevant and factual. Bibliography or die bitch!

Re: Big Time Centers Rookie #'s

I'm on here because in addition to being an admin of the site, I'm a poster. I've posted with schilly, gambitnut and howie among others for a few years at bbf before I left that site.

Again, I'm not fucking with you. Challenging the reasoning behind the numbers you picked isn't fucking with you, it is having a discussion.

His numbers are factual and to the point about relevancy....its the dying days of the offseason man...relevant and current things to talk about are few and far between in regards to bball

Re: Big Time Centers Rookie #'s

I can tell you. It would be considered "fucking with someone" if the person perceived any challenge to their idea in full to be of a malicious intent. However, that opinion could also be perceived as a proposition for complete analysis if the original poster was able to consider that while their intent was positive, it was incomplete with regard to a significant result.

Re: Big Time Centers Rookie #'s

Well it's certainly relevant. We're about to see a dynamite center prospect take the court for a very interesting Blazers team. I'd be hard pressed to find a fan of the league who isn't interested in what Oden can do. Now, are these comparisons of top-centers complete? Only if you include all top-center-prospects. That makes sense, doesn't it?

How can anyone forget Wilt's numbers?

    37.6 ppg, 27 rpg,

blocks weren't counted. Although his field goal percentage was his career worst in his rookie year at 46%.
