Seems like something D'antoni would do.

I'll do this in two parts:

D'Antoni's probable (and no good) lineup:
    PG: Chris Duhon
    SG: Jamal Crawford
    SF: Wilson Chandler
    PF: Zach Randolph
    C: David Lee

IMO, the smarter lineup for D'Antoni's style:
    PG: Chris Duhon
    SG: Mardy Collins
    SF: Jamal Crawford
    PF: Wilson Chandler
    C: David Lee

That seems like a very good lineup and the Knicks' best players.

Are the Knicks truly done with Starbury? I've heard he's in really good shape for once. He's got some serious skills if he can regain his form from a few years ago.

How much are we going to see ZBo and Curry on the court at the same time?

Why do you have Mardy up there, Jacoby?

I'm not a Knicks guru exactly, but from what I have seen of Mardy Collins, he can play some defense (with which you never go wrong in an up-tempo style), and shoot the ball (a staple of D'Antoni's offense in Phoenix).

I can't see Randolph or Curry starting for D'Antoni (and if they do, it won't last), and it would make sense to toss another wing in there.

I'm probably one of the only Knick fans that think Marbury would be good for us. Why pay him $21M to play for Miami/Boston or wherever he signs? We might as well keep him. He's clearly focused if he's coming into this season in the best shape of his life.

You might be thinking of someone else... Mardy is a terrible shooter.

If he signs with Boston, I'll kill myself.

probably... still, he's got the defense, which was my main focus over the shooting.

He'll be fine in Boston. He said he doesn't mind coming off the bench and KG will keep him in check.

Worse case scenario you just cut him, while the Knicks pay his salary.

He says that now... but we're loaded at guard. I think Steph meant he'll be willing to come off the bench if he gets 20 minutes a game, which will not happen with Rondo starting over him and House and Cassell to compete with for minutes.

I think Marbury will be able to log 20 MPG in Boston. Cassell is almost 40, and Eddie House isn't as talented as Marbury. He briefly discusses it around the 10-minute mark: http://video.wnbc.com/player/?id=695222

Granted, talent can only take you so far, but Marbury seems like he has a chip on his shoulder this year. Basically, it's a low-risk, high-reward type of move.

I'd have to agree with Mr. J's starting lineup. That seems like the lineup that would end up being the starters, but I don't know how well it'd work. ZBo is not meant for the style of offense D'Antoni is going to run, but neither is Curry, and if you don't start one of them, you're going to be REALLY small in the frontcourt. Not that D'Antoni hasn't done that before though.

Personally, I think they should go with something like this:

    PG: Duhon
    SG: Marbury
    SF: Crawford
    PF: Chandler:
    C: Lee

I figure if they're going to be paying Marbs and bunch of money, you might as well get something out of him. If he's in the best shape of his life, I think he could end up being a viable part of your team and he'd be a better start than Collins. Jacoby mentioned defense, but D'Antoni doesn't care about that. His style is all about scoring and has NOTHING to do with playing defense, so starting an offensively capable guy like Marbury would make some sense.
