I really benefit for you older fellas knowledge. I think that is what is fun about this. I'm learning as I go. Like Willis Reed, is famous name-wise, but if overrated. Didn't know it til I really looked into it. Now I have a long list of players I want, and none of which had much publicity.

    It's really cool.

Walter Davis pick was terrific. The guy was a volume scorer from the wing with a very high FG% and he wasn't a dunker.

    Wow.

For several years, Price was better than Stockton, IMO. He absolutely could take the ball anywhere on the court he wanted against any pressure. He shot a very high FG% for a PG, and was as good a passing PG as there was (not as flashy as Magic, but still...).

If there's a knock on him, it's that he didn't play a lot of minutes. See his per 36 minute stats here:

I actually agree that there is one that is probably a better starter and a few others that I really like as well.

However, there is nobody even close to his league that can shoot like him. This was an easy pick. I needed a backup PG that can shoot. What star PG could shoot like Mark Price? None. Is he suited for a backup role? Yep. (More like a split time role, actually. And he will be on the court if we are winning late, since he is the best FT shooter ever.)

Rice is a great pure shooter and scorer. Not a very good defender.

    A fine pick tho.

There are a lot of good scorers left, but my team was light on long-range shooters and my backcourt was a little bit small. He is a great fit.

As an all-around player, he compares very favorably to this guy.

I have plenty of defense. I needed shooters. Price and Rice were available, so now I have two of the very best outside shooters ever.

The ones where he doesn't measure up are the ones affected most by the quality of the teams they were on.

The biggest difference between Rice and Reggie? about 7,000 career points.. and yes that does matter.
