Yes you do, and I always expect the best!

But then I sit here watching my picks go away, crossing each name off the list one by one by one.....

    :sigh:

To think I would get beat by :ghoti:

I thought about Oakley and I'm not surprised Ghoti took him, but he just didn't fit the style of my team.

I also think there was a better option out there, but I'm keeping quiet until the end of the draft ;)

I gotta admit, Don't now that much about Bobby Danridge or Truck Robinson.
Jamal Wilkes is a nice pick up this late. solid not great player to have.

Truck was a studly defender, monster rebounder, and he got his points when the team needed them.

Dandridge was a silky smooth top 5 type SF for a decade.

Both Dandridge and Truck won a championship with the Washington Bullets (I believe) and certainly made that team one of the regular contenders for several years.

Wilkes was a SF who guarded PFs for both the championship GS Warriors and later the Lakers with Magic (before Worthy). A studly defender with an awkward looking shot that went in a lot.

Is anyone up for extending the draft to 15 rounds?

I know there are a lot of great players left, but how many of them will like being on a team where they never play?

There's barely any (or NO) minutes for the 9th-12th guys now.

Maybe we can just discuss some of the players who didn't get taken. A lot of them I passed on because they need the ball a lot or I didn't have the minutes they need to be effective.

NBA rosters are 15 including IR. It also lets us have 3 complete lineups - 1st/2nd/3rd string, and the draft is fun and almost over ;)

I was not building a "third string" lineup. I can't imagine anything more pointless. I picked a few specialists who might be able to crack the rotation occasionally because they have special skills I might need.

Just collecting some more players might be fun, but there's really no purpose for it.

I think 15 rounds could be fun. I've enjoyed reading the discussion and making a few picks for agoo101284, I wouldn't mind if it kept going.

I'd be down for 15 picks as my team is short.

meh, we should stick to what we have set. 7-9 months from now we can have another all-era draft and set it for 15.

Looked up the players you took Denny, Truck had a few solid years and a lot more mediocre ones. His overall totals are not that impressive.

I knew Wilkes was a solid guy who could put it in the basket. Has some decent rebounding numbers for his position and size too.

Dandridge was a about on par with Wilkes from the looks of it.

I'm 4 deep at my twin towers positions (4x centers), but I had only one true SF in Dr. J. While David Thompson played at lot of SF and West could also play the position in a pinch, it seemed to me that Dandridge and Wilkes fill out my roster giving me depth all the way around.

Robinson was a stud before injury and an 18/9 type PF after two injury plagued seasons. Even though he put up numbers like 23/16 in his best season, he was primarily known for his defense. I picked him up so my team has full flexibility to run 3 guard sets or twin towers or a traditional lineup with a true PF.

Wilkes was a great defender. He got 2nd team All-NBA defense team awards while in Golden State but couldn't beat out Havlicek for first team - there's nothing to be embarrassed about there. In LA, they ran Westhead's run and gun offense so his defense was not relied upon and overlooked.

yeah but when you look at Truck's totals, 12000 pts and 7200 rebounds is not superb.

ditto Larry Johnson going, if that guys back had held together well then he'd have gone in the first five rounds.

still it's late and these guys are 3rd options.

Wilkes and Dandridge were solid pick ups for sure. I'd look at Wilkes as an option because I had heard of him etc but never saw him play, but when the numbers are mediocre and I don't know the player too well, I went with what I know.

I think it's cool most of your players are 70's era players, i was too young to follow the league then and really don't know a lot about it.

Edit- Go ahead and try to generalize my picks, these "modern" players continue to be underrated for a variety of reasons.
