Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 What's going to be interesting about it? Its blatantly obvious that the Sux are in vacation mode, they don't give a flying fuck, they're still living in last year like it actually means monkey shit right now. It'll be 17-2 with a Rays win, the Sux will bend over and take it in the ass yet again because they have the mental toughness of Pikachu. Congratulations on your American League championship though, much deserved after 10 tough years.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 Kazmir is going to start Game 5. After further thought this looks like a good move by Maddon because the rays want their best two pitchers (Shields and Garza) in must win games. Its going to be hard to beat Dice K so why not throw out Kazmir who may or may not have a good game. In Game 6 at home shields (who is amazing at home) is likely to only give up a couple of runs and with the way Beckett is pitching right now it could be a good offensive day for the Rays. The series is still not over, the rays still have to beat 3 top pitchers all on 5 days rest but being at home the last two games really helps.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 I think we have no chance at all winning game 5, maybe a 10% chance? I miss Schilling.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 Dice-K will win game 5. They'll bring Lester back for game 6, and they'll start Beckett game 7, but have every pitcher ready and available in the bullpen. We have done this before. I'm not going to give up until it's officially over.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 Good news: Sox won because the Rays bullpen imploded Bad news: Beckett will pitch game 6 as opposed to game 7. Big mistake.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 I'm feeling pretty good now, and I think there's a big chance we take the series to 7.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 That's the plan... give us hope by taking it to 7, then rip our hearts out... If I don't expect wins, I can't be disappointed.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 Sox will win game 7. (bet on it) GO SOX!!!
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 Man that was a crazyy game last night! Don't miss tonite's game at 8
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 Lester definitely should have started Game 6. Beckett would have been a lock in a 7th game.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 I thought Lester should have started game 6 too, but I think we were proven wrong. We now have our best pitcher, who is 100% healthy, going in a game 7... instead of an injured Josh Beckett.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 I can't really complain if it works out, but IMO, Beckett would have responded in a big way in a 7th game, injured or not. Guys like him, you essentially have to give them no choice but to produce, and he would have.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 Game 6 was just as important for the Red Sox. Francona had faith in both, and that is why he left the rotation the way it was already set. I ACtually thought game 6 was more important because you can't play it as "life or death" since even if you win, you have to play another game. A solid start from the starting pitcher was needed much more than it will tonight. Every pitcher excluding Beckett will be available tonight, if needed.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 In the back of my mind I was afraid this was going to happen because the Red Soxs have the momentum after the 7-0 comeback. It should be a really good game with two of the best young pitchers dueling it out. If Gabe Gross starts which he probably wont cuz he is a lefty against a lefty, I will be really mad, he has totally sucked this postseason. Win or lose, I will be proud of the Rays for accomplishing so much. I have watched over 100+ rays games this year on the mlb.tv package and its scary tht it is all coming down to this game. I just want to punch everything when I remeber tht all we had to do is allow less than one run per out in game 5.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 I like the fact that the Rays have Garza starting; he's an emotional guy, and if he makes a few bad pitches in the first couple of innings, he could come undone pretty quickly. That would help the Sox a great deal, to get him out of the way early.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 Red Sox lead Game 7 in the 4th inning. 1-0 Pedroia hit a solo HR in the 1st inning. Garza has 6 strikeouts already, but the Rays bats have been quiet.
Re: Series Thread: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays; RAYS LEAD SERIES 3-1 ^ Jinx. As soon as you post, the Rays score. Longoria knocks in Pena from 1st. 1-1.
