He would be the perfect protection for A-Rod. Possibly the best 3-4 EVER.

He allows us to trade Matsui, or drop Abreu.

How much would you give him? Can he conform to Yankee values?

I'm pretty sure Abreu has gone to free agency.

A-Rod and Manny WOULD be the best 3-4 ever in my opinion.

But, he got a giant offer from the Dodgers and the question is, are the Yanks willing to drop a larger amount?

I really don't know if he'll be able to follow the Yankee values though.

Keep in mind, he already has two 20 million player options. It's going to take a lot.

You talking about Manny? If so, then I think you're wrong. I'm pretty sure those were waived by LA when he was traded there.

I think we're getting CC and 1 of:
    Burnette (Old)
    Tex(Middle)
    Manny (Ancient)

You'd think the descision would be easy to make, but it's really, really not.

    You're right

I meant he had 2 huge options still on the table before declining them. It is going to take a lot.

Well, one of the reasons those were waived was because Scott Boras wasn't going to get his cut.

Marte will be resigned for a longer term deal, I think. If they can get 7 mil, 3 years, it was a great choice.

Lefty specialist who can come in to setup when needed.

    Ortiz/Manny >> Manny/ARod.

And I don't even think it's close. Not because Ortiz is a better player than ARod, but Ortiz and Manny were a younger combo. They are L/R, while ARod and Manny hit form the same side.

I'd love to bring Manny back to NY.

Though CC and Texeria are the 2 I want this offseason.

Bringing Manny to NY would be a huge mistake take the money and get CC/Teix and either Burnett/Penny/Sheet/Perez...We dont need another old player making 20+ mil on the team that will just be a distraction use some the money that we would spend on Manny and sign Kerry Wood we could use another guy in the pen if Joba ends back up in the rotation which i think there is no doubt he will...Also i would like to see us take a shot at Mark Prior if we cant sign any of the other SP he is a hell of a pitcher and would only need a 1 year deal give him a shot if he is health he is gonna be worth it if he is not just dump him after the season

btw i was wondering where the hell all of the bbb.net yankee fans went

I don't think you can say that, yet. I think Manny had a hand in making Ortiz. Manny backing up A-Rod would surely jack up his numbers, making up for him batting Righty. I'm pretty sure A-Rod would hit 3rd, since he's quicker.

Ortiz was completely a product of Manny. I'm not saying Ortiz is not a good hitter, but he has huge holes in his swing and not having Manny behind him makes it a lot easier for pitchers to take advantage of them.

I'd pass on Manny. We don't need another Johnny Damon incident.

I'll say no thanks to Manny. I'd rather bring in CC and Tex. CC fills our pitching needs and Tex is a lot younger than Manny and is a good first baseman, something we lack.

Tex is no where close to Manny interms of hitting though. And that's saying something, considering how great Tex is.

Of course, Tex won't produce like Manny, but you know he'll be a good clubhouse guy day in and day out.
