If, God-forbid, Obama and Biden were assassinated while in office, who then would become our President? Morbid question, I know, but, for whatever reasons, my Dad thinks Obama's life will constantly be in jeopardy while in office and it caused me to think upon such. Thanks, ABM
Order of Succession According to the Presidential Succession Act of 1947, if the President of the United States is incapacitated, dies, resigns, is for any reason unable to hold his office, or is removed from office (impeached and convicted), people in the following offices, in this order, will assume the office of the President, provided they are qualified as stated by the Constitution to assume the office of the President, which means they have to be must be at least 35 years old, must be a natural-born U.S. citizen, and have lived in the U.S. for at least 14 years. Vice President Speaker of the House President Pro Tempore of the Senate Secretary of State Secretary of the Treasury Secretary of Defense Attorney General Secretary of the Interior Secretary of Agriculture Secretary of Commerce Secretary of Labor Secretary of Health and Human Services Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Secretary of Transportation Secretary of Energy Secretary of Education Secretary of Veterans Affairs Secretary of Homeland Security http://bensguide.gpo.gov/6-8/government/national/succession.html
That secretary of transportation is probably gonna be a really shady dude. Those above better watch out
...teaming with the Sec of Energy to form a diobolical duo that is going to move up the power ladder rapidly and sell out to BIG OIL $ [more SUVs and more imported oil ASAP!!!]
It wouldn't be much different from an Obama White House. According to Rachel Maddow, "you can't put a piece of paper between Obama's and Pelosi's policy prescriptions."
Oh, dear. Here we go again. Another worthless semantic argument. Go argue with yourself. I don't write posts as legal documents. I brought up many of the talking heads that were supporting him had no idea of his worldview. I may have written "no one", and if you choose to take me to forum court over it, then I'll have to amend my statement. What a tremendous victory you have achieved. However, when she said it, I assumed she meant that one could look at their voting records and see virtually no difference. Have a nice day. Hugs & Kisses, maxiep
Poor guy. Fall all over yourself to attack Obama, even to the point of contradicting yourself, and then turn sarcastic when it's pointed out. Just like when you said Obama, with a Democratic congress, would be a "socialist steamroller" and then, in another thread, said Obama probably wouldn't really do anything. Whatever's convenient to criticize Obama, whether or not it's rational or consistent!
You may try to figure out my motives, but the very idea you believe to understand them better than me only highlights your arrogance and self-importance. But if you wish to be picky, Brokaw and Rose discussed his "worldview", while Maddow discussed his "policy prescriptions". Those are two different concepts. Also, I don't understand how quoting three different people is contridicting myself. Spin is fun for some, but not for me. My thoughts have been completely consistent, and it's only by taking parts of what I've said that you try to make it appear as if I'm inconsistent. I guess that's an enjoyable afternoon for you; it's not for me. Like I said, enjoy your semantic victory. It doesn't appear as if there's much else in your life. Vaya con Dios.
