The rankings are meant to pick who is most likely to win the championship. Spurs are getting a big boost because of their recent playoff performance. Spurs would be 28th if I took that out. They have played horribly thus far. Based on past NBA trends, the Spurs can still fall towards the bottom if they remain like this. The Spurs are looking in bad shape.

The Atlanta Hawks are going crazy. #3 right now. The won't stop until they're ahead of the Lakers.

 

The probability of winning the championship...how do you calculate that, I'm just curious.

I love your rankings btw, cause it gives a different view from the power rankins on ESPN and stuff..cause theirs is based off performance and opinion, while this is purely statistics, so its always cool to look at both.

 

I use to calculate the Dabullz Rating:

35 * (O-Rtg / League Best ORtg) + 35 * ([League Best DRtg - (DRtg - League Best DRtg)] / League Best Drtg) + 20 * (Win% / League Best Win%) + Playoff level over the past 2 years

Playoff levels = First Round - 1 point, 2nd - 2 points, conference finals - 3 points, finals - 4 points, championship - 5 points. And that is over the past 2 years, so a maximum of 10 points possible.

The maximum amount of points a team can get is 100. The maximum possible for a team this year, is 98, which is the Spurs best outlook. The Lakers at 95 were the only team that reached their max level so far this season, as they led the league in O-Rtg, D-Rtg, and Win% at one point in the year.

 

Jazz loss, Laker will have a though one against the Rockets, and the Hawks won.

By the end of the night, Hawks could be the last undefeated team

 

That's a scary thought. At least the Hawks will no longer be undefeated after Tuesday.

Well if they're not undefeated after Tuesday than naturally they will also not be undefeated after Wednesday.

I'll bet 100 bucks they'll continue to be undefeated after Tuesday and then get their first loss the following night.
