NY looks like they will win another game (against Dallas) and Zach dominated: 27 pts 17 rebs (10-19 FG) This performance followed the other impressive games Zach has had in the last month: 29 pts 19 rebs 18 pts 10 rebs 15 pts 13 rebs 25 pts 14 rebs 22 pts 13 rebs 25 pts 13 rebs 15 pts 13 rebs Gotta love that run-n-gun offense.
The thing with Zach has always been this. You just hope his offensive abilities are a net positive over what the team will give up on defense with him on the court.
I'm still a fan of Zach, despite his many transgressions. It looks like he is finally getting back to the Zach of old. I hope he makes the All-Star team this year. I think he deserves it.
Zach is a really skilled offensive player, he really is. I remember watching his footwork in a game against Brand and the Clippers in 2006 and thinking to myself that he has the kind of offensive moves that helped Hakeem put his defender on his heels. If he was willing to work harder on defense - he would have been a lock for the all-star game every year.
Game is now in OT and looks like Dallas will take this one down. That said this Blazers team would be great if it ran Dantoni's system then again so would any team with skilled shooters.
Steve Nash in Dallas was a 17 ppg 7 apg PG. He went to Phoenix where Mike D took off the leash at ran an uptempo system. Steve Nash developed into an All-Star and MVP calibur player. Ironically, Steve Nash is putting up 13 ppg 7 apg this year without Mike D. Age is a factor but losing Coach Mike hurt Steve Nash. I really hate Coach Nate's system. His offensive sets are so predictable and lethargic.
Zach was guarding Brandon Bass. David Lee and Wilson Chandler were the ones being torched by Nowitzki in OT.
i watched the game tonight. he was beastin' for exacly one quarter, then was terrible for 3 quarters and overtime. started something like 7-8 then went 3-12, and was his usual invisible self on defense the entire game.
I just saw the 20/11 at halftime, and haven't been able to get back since. How'd he look in the second half? Was he invisible, or missing shots?
Book it. a Mike D'Antoni coached team will never win a championship. His system is like a big puffy, ball of cotton candy; sure is sweet but leaves you with a headache and wanting for just a little more substance.
yup. i like that we're going in the opposite half-court direction, building a spurs-like team more than suns.
