this year does it increase the odds that he leaves Cleveland in 2010? He will have brought the championship to Cleveland. He would have honored his home state. Would it be time to explore new horizons?
I think it depends to what extent he feels they can provide him with the opportunity to win more titles. If they can, which they ought to if they win this year, then he'll stay. If they can't offer him that opportunity for whatever reason, then I think he'll go. However, I don't know if, come 2010, any team will be in a better position than the Cavs could be to offer LeBron the chance for a dynasty of Championships.
In the words of The Fresh Prince "Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll No" If Cleveland wins a championship he is sitting put. Lebron wants multiple chips and as Jordan told him and Ray Allen if you mean one that just means your lucky. You want to repeat. Lebron wants to be mention with the best who ever done it. Cleveland knows the most important thing to Lebron is a championship. Lebron is going to play on a team that is dedicated to winning and gives him the best chance to win. Not because his friend is part owner of the team, not because he loves the Yankees and etc etc etc
Yea but Lebron also wants to be an world wide icon and hes only going to do it by playing in a big city like L.A and N.Y
What do you think matters most to him?? World wide icon or NBA Championships. Also correct me if I'm wrong but Jordan didn't play in LA or N.Y. In fact one of those cities is the one where he did the most ass kicking in. Championships and winning brings the fame.
Lebron is a already a world wide icon. The guy has billboards all over Taiwan. I think winning championships gets his name further into history....whether it be Cleveland, LA or NY. Will being in LA or NY get him into the class of MJ or Magic where mainstream people will recognize his face and name? Playing in June on center stage year after year won't hurt whether it's Cleveland, LA or NY.
In you opinion but out of the man's own mouth he said championships. He want's a legacy to leave behind. He wants the rings. It's not about money if it was he would sign a deal that Melo signed. No he signed a deal that would let him see if this team is not serious about winning he's gone. This is the reason why the Cavs are doing everything they can surround him with talent. True but the man said LA NY is the only place where this man ca be a world wide icon. If you ever read dime around 2 years ago this issue came out it spoke about Lebron plan when the Olympics start He wanted to globalize the Lebron Brand name but he also said everything is second to a championship. That is what drives him and why he gets up in the morning. He already has money fame and power. He has commercials, hosted award shows and Sat. Night Live, big shoe bubblegum and soft drink endorsements. Money is not his concern but championships If he doesn't get the rings he will be another great player who never made it.
Actually he signed a deal that expires in 2010 because it coincides with the expiration of the CBA. That's why him, Bosh, and Wade all did it. They wanted to be able to take advantage of any changes made.
yea true but the main reason is when I find the article where I can quote him saying that is why I will post it too.
No need, I believe it. I'm sure having a competitive team was a consideration. It also helps motivate management... especially when you say it. But mostly it was about an opportunity to make as much money as possible with little risk because you could always not opt out.
I think Lebron will jet if Cleveland does not at least make it back to finals. Also losing to the Pistons Celtics and the Hornet still shows his team is away from competing.
The core of those three teams has been together longer. I think he realizes they made a lot of changes in the past 9 months and they still need sometime to gel. I think they have a legit shot this year.
