Shaq better be prepared to play all game cuz usually he would get a rest once Joel leaves the game, but now Joel has a back up that requires attention.
Getting a win here would be so huge... we'd be 9-5 with three home games next week and a chance to be at 12-5 heading into another brutal road trip, going east next.
Phoenix is a very good team (well coached too!) and playing at home and I won't be surprised if we lose tonight, but I would like to at least see a competitive contest, where we're in it til the end. This game has the potential to be a pretty good measuring stick for where this team is. Should be fun!
The key will be to play them even when their starters are in but totally take advantage of our superior bench and keep pushing the lead.
So I just bought tickets on craigslist for tonights game, they are shitty seats but right now its all I can afford. I hope to go the Blazers win tonight... Who to wear... I have Oden (black), Aldridge (red), Roy (white), Outlaw(white), and Drexler (1992).
Just curious Nate, but you are a big Cards and Dbacks fan, how did you become a fan of Portland and not the Suns?
I grew up in Portland, moved to Arizona two years ago. Not having a true Baseball or Football team to follow in Portland I became a huge Basketball fan, and of course Blazer fan. When I moved out here I was actually a season ticket holder for the Seahawks and I would drive up to the games in Seattle, but since I live across the street (literally) from the Cardinals new Stadium I converted to being a Cardinals fan. The Diamondbacks I follow a lot, and I was never a big baseball fan till I moved out here, so they became my team. I have always hated the Suns and now that hatred has grown even more (I hate the Suns more than the Lakers), so tonights a big game for me! And for this young team!
Like I always say, "Screw it--as long as I'm in the building, I'm GOOD!!!" Have fun, bro'... hopefully we can get the W' vs. the Suns. We kinda "owe" them one after that last game we played there a few weeks back. Oh, and I'd probably wear the Drex' jersey. I'd imagine people down there hated "The Glide"... seeing as how he ripped their poor little hearts out on quite a few occasions.
The Suns w/o the uptempo offense don't scare me as they used to. Has anyone noticed Shaq has a little pep to his step these days? He's playing good ball. I do think we should run Shaq ragged by running pick and rolls all night.
This should be a good game, looking forward to seeing how we play after last night. This should be a different story then last time we played the Suns,
Oden's first REAL test. I think Shaq takes him to school a little bit, but Shaq will be surprised when Oden packs it back in his face.
