^hell no...let the players get paid...everybody is overpaid but since the money is being made then they deserve it
Exactly, you can't place a cap on the player's pay since their value to "the league" fluctuates as "the league" increases in value, relatively. To place a cap on salary is saying that only the operational staff of the league will benefit from the future growth of the NBA.
I know you can't place a cap on it. It'll never happen. But it's just ridiculous how much they get paid. At the end of the day, they are playing basketball. That's it. They aren't really doing anything to benefit society. You got like the 11th man on a team making over $500,000 atleast and not getting any minutes. Meanwhile lots of blue collar people can't even crack $100,000. Operational staff wouldn't even be benefitting if you consider only a handful of teams even make a profit each year.
DaRizzle hits the jumper and one. I didn't think of that. Not sure, use a magic wand and make the tickets cheaper? Make parking free? Jerseys cheaper? But there's no need for Stephon Marbury to make 21.9 million dollars in a year. Even if he was playing. Maybe Walsh could use that money to give back to all the Knicks fans who have had to put up with them sucking since JVG left.
Im all for that but we both know that will never happen...Life aint fair. Teach our kids = 40k year Put rubber ball in metal hoop = 20mil per year ...oh well
Yeah, but take into account all of the money that goes into giving journalists a job to cover this stuff, the maintenence staff, all the people working in the various food places in the stadium, the restaurant owners who can make sports themes restaurants and bars. The part of the advertising industry devoted to the NBA, their teams, and players who are used to market products for other companies. Think about all the agents, lawyers, etc. employed because of this. Think about the parking staff. Think about the sound and video engineers for tv stations and also in arena. Think about the people who make money for producing the clothes and various merchandise. Think about the people who design the merchandise. Think about the make-up artists associated with various entities in the NBA. Think about the radio announcers and tv announcers. Think about the camera man. Think about the photographer. Think about the guys making NBA video games. Think about the video editors making NBA DVD's and features. Think about the security staff that has to be hired. Or think about the personal chefs and drivers. Think about the guy that sells stuff in the team store, or the gal whose job it is to sell or scan tickets. God Damn NBA not doing a damn thing to help the common man!
McGrady and Rafer's actions towards Nash? You're acting like they were picking on him or something. Call Nash racist for coming into the situation and making it a bigger deal. That is some stupid shit you're saying right there dude. That is a horrible example right there. Lebron not wanting to make the 100th point so white people cant get some free tacos? Are you shitting me? I'm sure there were 1,000's of black people out there also.
I wanted Trent Hassell to score 10 points in a row in the last 2 minutes yesterday so Lakers fans won't get free tacos. Does that make me a racist?
