I got a night with your mom.....it was free, not much of a deal though since that's the normal price anyway. LOL, JK man. Anyone find any good laptop deals?
I just bought Chinese Democracy for my brother and some clothing for my niece. Not a lot of free money this year to spend. Hopefully I have more money next year, because when you have money, this weekend is fun, despite what that one guy says about it being no fun in the walmart thread.
I got: -Blu ray player $128 (Walmart) -Fallen, Hollywood Land, The Negotiator, The Aviator, Miami Vice for $8 total (Walmart) -Transformers Blu ray $9.99 (Best Buy) -26" HDTV $299.99 (Target--brother is paying me back for it) -Entourage seasons 1-3 for $9.99 each (Best Buy) -A necklace for my girl from Kay -I Am Legend for $4 (Target) -Live Free or Die Hard Blu ray $15.99 (Best Buy) Great weekend. A lot of fun. My main purchase was the Blu Ray. Just picked up the TV for my brother until he or my mom can pay me back.
I was totally ripped off on my HP laptop. Did not get the cashback (320, or so) I deserved, so I'm canceling it.
I got a $130 pair of Bass dress shoes for 70% off at their outlet store. Got 2 pair of Oakley sunglasses for $99.99 Got 2 Northface quarter -zip ups for $35 each at REI
To be honest with you, I went back to Walmart today to ask them when they ran out of them because they were out of them when I got there. The employee said they ran out of the player in the first hour. That begs the question...how did I get mine? Well, I went there not expecting to get one. In fact, I hid a $200 Samsung one @ Best Buy before I left for Walmart just in case. I got to Wal-mart and the lines were INSANE. I was walking around with some cheap movies in my hand looking for a short line to pay in and leave because I had given up. Well, I was walking down the linens aisle and this kid (about 16 or 17) was pushing a cart with the blu ray player, an HDTV, and a shit load of Blu Ray movies. The kid pulled his cart aside and started looking at shit on that aisle (I'm assuming he was shopping for his parents). He walked onto the next aisle and I started thinking like the asshole I am. I checked the next aisle and he wasn't there, so I ran back to his cart and pulled the TV off and put it on the floor. I grabbed the player from his cart and started walking. I put down all the movies I had because I couldn't carry them with the player. I made my way to the sporting goods register because the lines in front where SO LONG. The dude in sports had absolutely no one in line. I paid and booked it out of there before the kid could find me. I know. Typical Mamba.
Most of the deals looked worse than deals the past couple of years. I bought a ps3 game for 20 bucks online for myself and some stuff for my family for christmas
The deals weren't that great this year, but I go out every year (mainly for movies, cd's, and a big purchase (be it a TV or a Blu Ray) and then I'll do most of the Xmas shopping for my mom. It's fun being out in line with people that you don't know, but are just socializing with.
I used to love it too, but half that stuff I can find online for the same prices so it isn't worth it to me as much anymore. Especially when a lot of guys are complete jackasses there. One year I had these russian dudes who were first in line, and when it came 5 am tried to get his whole coddamn family in line with him. Needless to a say a beatdown almost took place. That guy was such a douche
Yeah, people like that do ruin the experience. I always love going out to the main stores I go to (Best Buy, Walmart, Target) the Saturday after to see what is left. I've scored some pretty good deals on a shit load of movies without having to fight for them.
That is what he gets for leaving his cart unattended. I gave him a 2:00 warning and he couldn't run an effective 2:00 drill. I intercepted his product.
I did absolutely nothing on Black Friday. I'm dreading Cyber Monday though. I work for Nordstrom at their Cedar Rapids contact center, so Monday is going to be nuts. I'm relatively sure that there's going to be a massive queue of people and that we're going to be super duper busy. And I'm also relatively sure I'm going to hate it. Almost as much as I'm going to hate tomorrow, getting to work a 12.5 hour shift. Joy.
It is basically Black Friday--but on the internet. I've never really found any great deals on Cyber Monday, though.
I really need a new laptop, I'm going back to school next semester. Trying to keep it under $500 if possible. I haven't seen too many good deals for Cyber monday. Anybody know of any good deals?
