Washington and Washington State could even beat us if our defense plays the way they did on Saturday.
What does that have to do with us? Nothing. Last I checked I didnt throw any batteries or am not the guy in the "doo rag". If I wanted to I'm sure I could find plenty of stories/videos online of Duck fans acting like morons to other teams/fans. I just think its funny that you where MIA after last years Civil War, but are gloating more than anyone else after this one. For the record - I gave your boys credit earlier in this thread.
There are jackasses to all fanbases, just ignore it, thats what i have learned to do. Some people can't take the higher road and just be humble in the victory.
Pop, we can spend all day pointing to examples where fans of both teams lacked class in the past (one of my personal favorites was when a Duck fan threw milkbone dog biscuits at the Huskies' LB Dave Hoffmann, Hoffman turned around, picked a biscuit up, ate it slowly and shocked the thrower into silence.) Your lame attitude isn't exonerated by the lowest common denominator -- it just shows that you're comfortable clubbing with the biggest idiots.
Scoreboard. If you want a friendly rivalry, watch tennis. Otherwise get some thicker skin. If you can't take some written barbs and a few photos that highlight Beav ineptitude, you should seek out some new hobbies. -Pop
^Exactly. Except Tennis is a bad example, there are plenty of rivalries in pro Tennis as well. Try maybe Slot Car racing or Golf. Anyway, I agree with Soda. What fun is there in being super civil when it comes to the Civil War?? After one team wins I guess we should all be saying "good game!" "congrats gents!" "Too bad, but best of luck in your bowl game!" etc etc. BORING!!!! Is being classy and nice the "right" thing to do? Sure it is. But since when are we a perfect, completely classy and civilized people? I mean come on, I KNOW that 90%+ of Beaver fans can't stand the Ducks, and vice versa. So if your team (the Ducks) won then please: gloat, point and laugh, be naughty, have some fun and trash talk the Beavs to your heart's content! The Beavers did it to you last two years, and you can bet your ass they'll do it again the next time they win the CW. Have some fun for fucks sake.
Nice tactic. Flip your punkishness around and blame me for being a softy. I never said I couldn't take it -- I've been going to OSU games for approx. 30 years and my armor is well earned. It's also becoming pretty hard to take you seriously, which makes it all the easier to keep the skin thick and let your crap slide off. At the end of the day, you're being a punk and I think you know it. Sooner or later karma will slap you upside the head and that'll be just fine.
Show me an example of how I was "being a punk"? Did I make fun of James Rodgers for getting hurt? Did I personally attack a single fan or player? My smack has consisted of "Corvallis how my ass taste?" (which is hilarious ... thank you Shaq) and a few photos. Good Lord. Quit crying. This ain't the ballet. -Pop
I (and I'm guessing everyone else as well) am officially sick and tired of this conversation. Nice game by the Bears last night.
I'm a lot of things. A glutton for punishment is not one of them. Like I said, losing last year sucked. I dealt with it by choosing to not get involved in the smack talk. I also didn't go in there and whine like a baby about the gloating from the Beavs. Oh, and on a side note, when you throw out "didn't have the balls to show up" in reference to a thread on a message board, I'd start questioning the priorities in your life. Just a thought. You seem like a pretty stand-up dude, and I can appreciate that, but the cyber-bravado is lame. I enjoy posting on here, but I also don't let it define the full extent of my interactions with other people. If I owed you money or lost a bet or something like that in relation to the game, and bitched out, that's one thing. But c'mon dude. It's a forum on a Web site. Let's keep things in perspective. -Pop
So -- let me get this straight. You are complaining about mobes asking you to show some class when the ducks win -- saying thicken the skin -- yet you admittedly avoid any contact with Beavers fans when the Ducks lose because you just can't take it. Am I missing the logic here?
yeah its a forum on a website. wheres that tough skin? or you couldnt take what your giving out now...........thick skin
I wish I had video's of the guys in Albany when I was driving back from the Arizona game, and I had to get gas, Guys were cutting my car off and flipping us off. Normally I wouldnt get mad but I had the wife and my 2 younger 13 year old brothers in the car. The gas station attendants were friendly though lol. So by simple elimination... Gas Station Attendants>_______
Great avatar. So...what's the point of taking the high road in a rivalry game? You're supposed to rub it in. I've never heard of a rivalry where fans of opposing teams shake hands at the end of the game and say good game. Well, at least any rivalry worth a damn. Are you going to shake the hand of a Lakers fan after the Blazers beat them countless times in the playoffs? I think not.
The Beaver fans are very sensitive right now. Not only was the first Rose Bowl in 44 years in their reach, but they also saw their team have a complete defensive meltdown in the biggest Civil War of their lives. Projection is mostly what we are seeing right now. An outlet for the frustration of a huge loss, and SodaPop seems to be the poster receiving the brunt of it. I am receiving it on another board as well for some good-natured ribbing. The fact is that the post-game smack talk is no worse now than it was in 2000 on the ESPN boards, or after any Civil War for that matter. I watched last year's game from the 20th row, 49-yard line in the donor section, and many "donors" had obviously sold their tickets to Beaver fans. A few got kicked out from the "donor" section for berating elderly Duck fans. It was ridiculous.
