Good point, but they still play great team defense. Nice part is we have so many weapons. Hopefully GO brings his best game of the year, if so we win, if not we lose. He's the difference maker Boston has no one to match up with him.

I agree. Sometimes he looks like he is close to becoming the player we all hope he will become and on other nights he looks like he has a long way to go. And it is not just being inconsistent (which is expected) . . . it is demeanor and agility that is like night and day from game to game , IMO.

But worst case senario, he is a seviceable big man who clogs the middle and provieds the Blazers with some muscle. Best case . . . Ewing?

Just because I ripped on your post doesn't mean it is hating. I merely pointed out it is flawed. So I guess now just because I disagree with you it is hating. Oh wait, that is a hating line itself then. Oh my god I am a h8r!:devilwink:

    Hello darkness, my old friend
To head this thread off from becoming a trade-off of political diatribes, I've removed two posts (one right-leaning, one left-leaning) that contained extremely radical rhetoric. You may both post those same thoughts on the OT forum, if you wish, but please avoid posting them in a basketball thread. Thanks.

I could care less if you ripped on my post.

    This is the hating part:
"So calculate all you want. It means nothing. Maybe it can be the focus of your thesis paper in mathematics though"

It's pointless and stupid (not even my article) So yes you are a hater . . . at least when you respond to my posts.

I think Oden's problem, besides being out for over a year, major surgery, not in game shape, is that he's trying to hard and trying to impress to much. I think he really wanted to look good at MSG and his game suffered for it. I still think he's going to be a great center, it's just going to take a little time which shouldn't surprise anyone. Two of his last three games have been pretty good. Being inconsistent is common to rookies, but he's already improved and will continue to.

    Completely agree. He looked great.

Check out the block he had on Young about 44 and 54 seconds into the video.

I think that's the most elevation I've seen Greg get as a Blazer.

I think this quote explains some of this:

I think there is a conflict in Oden from doing what Nate is asking and wanting to dominate and show he's worth the #1 pick. It may be when he seems to be laid back he is just trying to find that balance that Nate is asking for.

After checking out the Rookie Rankings the other day, I came across an interesting statement that Shaq made about Oden.....

After Shaquille O'Neal racked up 19 points and 17 rebounds in his first time going head to head with G.O., the Daddy was less than impressed with the kid that looks like the Granddaddy.

"I'm the Shogun," O'Neal said. "And before you get to the Shogun, you gotta go through a lot of ninjas. He has to go through Dwight Howard and Yao Ming, and you know, by that time I'll be outta here."

Shaq aint the Shogun nomore... But that is irrelevant. How long until GO can get to Dwight and Mings level? or do you think he wont reach that platuae??

I thought Greg's last game was pretty damn good in the grand scheme of things, I often saw him running alot faster and with more intensity.

    Did you guys notice?

Shaq is still the big daddy. He can still overpower every player in the league and is a commanding force in the postseason. Shaq vs. Oden looked like a rottweiler fighting a toy poodle. Oden has a long way to go to even get to Dwight's level.

I noticed this too. He's going to have to bring his best game for Portland to beat Boston tonight.
