I saw this on Yahoo Sports. This is somewhat understandable seeing as how the 76ers had such high hopes this season.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3766766 They had high expectations after doing well last year, and have came out and been nothing special. Can't say i'm too surprised
The team has underachieved mainly because of Elton Brand struggling, but is it Mo's fault though? I think Brand just needs to find his groove again. It's still early in the season and Brand was injured all of last year.
They say the interim coach will coach out the year, but how many coaches do you think are looking at Philly and Toronto and saying they wouldn't mind coaching a team with that kind of talent? So I wonder, will they really stick with the interim for the rest of the year? The season is still salvageable.
Not a surprise. The team was underachieving big time, though it was also adjusting to a new style of play since they added Brand. I still think this team can make it to the playoffs, but they need to find a happy median between half-court basketball and running, because working out of mainly half-court like they've tried since adding Brand doesn't work for them. This team is tailor made to run, and confining them to half-court just to appease Brand isn't going to work.
