I never doubted Nelly's ability to bring the best out of players, just not big players. Like I said, when has this guy ever developed or coached a classic big man prototype? Who would I rather have coach the team? Honestly, I don't know. Maybe a guy that can make better adjustments and can utilize all his players, not just his small guards and wings. The guy has one formula: when in doubt, go small. He doesn't stray from it and it's pretty weak philosophy because it only gets you so far or nowhere at all. The guy doesn't know any other ball and it's so predictable and easy to counter. No wonder we get crushed on the glass and no wonder shot selection is bad (we got no inside/outside game).

All the other team has to do is keep pace, bring the pain inside and put more shots on goal than us. We got weak interior D, we got guys who can't set the tone inside, and we can't make good passes because the ball never goes in first (guys are either holding onto it or aren't big enough to help the smaller guys get separation from their defender). How do we get the ball to go in? We put more bigs in there so we don't have to utilize the 4 man to try and set the tone from outside. Outside in hardly ever works. We set hard picks, screens, and we lob it over the smaller players for the big guy to put a point blank shot in. Just look at all the jump shooting power forwards that don't rebound. Since they don't set the tone inside, it puts that much strain on their center to try and take over that role of being the inside player. Our small forwards are essentially all those tweener power forwards that we don't like because they can't play inside or rebound the ball. It's really important for us to develop strong big players and I believe Nelly just doesn't utilize those players. He doesn't even concentrate on defense or a halfcourt game to even worry about using a big player.

and Nobody is doubting the front office are a bunch of first rate f-ups.

I hate Cohan and Rowell. It's dumb and dumber.

I'm sorry but Nelly sucks. 30+ minutes from either Sjax or Azu at the PF spot is just lame. Meanwhile Turiaf get under 30 minutes or hardly sniff the floor. F that. That is total b.s.

What Big has he ever had on the roster that was worth a starting job, All-star worthy? The only one ever was CWebb, and he pretty much killed every coach and destroyed every team that he ever was on (Including at Michigan).

Tyrone Hill and Chris Gatling were scrubs that ended up All-stars at some point in their careers. I think Biedrins is turning out OK. Hell, if you want to go all the way back he even turned a hunchback in Paul Mokeski into a decent player. Others include: Bob Lanier, Alton Listor (pre knee blow out) Terry Cummings. Dirk ended up MVP.

What Big do you think Nelly had that could be molded that he didn't? POB? Victor Alexander? Manute Bol? Give me a list? The front office hasn't exactly drafted NBA ready guys. And Nelly hasn't been here long enough to let these guys get there physically. I just flat out disagree with your statement. Agree to disagree.

All of the players above have different strengths. And Nelly found ways for them to succeed. He didn't try to turn them into 1 type of player

They don't have to be All-stars. I'll take decent bigs (Turiaf, Wright, Randolph in stints), playing in their natural position, over any of these guard/small forwards that Nellie keeps trying to awkwardly force into frontline spots any day. It just doesn't work, they get killed. For every shot they get by a larger defender due to their range (such as we have) or quickness, they get another one stuffed back in their face, and no rebound when they inevitably miss those shots most of the time. On defense these smaller players just get abused, pushed around, shot over, and trucked.

I like that trade. It wouldn't make the team significantly better, but it would be an improvement. However I'm not sure it works under the NBA rules. Plus, the Bobcats would be taking in a lot of salary, and I don't think that's the direction they want to go in.

It makes some sense. I'd like the front office come out and paint a picture of where they want to take this team though. How they want to build it??? I Hate Cohan and Rowell!
