Just so everybody knows, tonight's game vs the Raptors will NOT be in HD. Thought I'd warn my boys! Enjoy!
Comcast is hemorrhaging money, and I imagine we'll see less bells and whistles as the ad rates continue to fall in this economy. CS Northwest could simple strike a deal with Charter, Dish, and DirecTV to double the potential viewership and therefore increase ad rates, but I guess that makes too much sense.
I'm not a TV or ad guy....if you already have the capital investment (cameras, bandwidth at houses, etc) why is it more expensive to broadcast in HD? Why would ad rates be a factor in whether you broadcast HD or not?
A) Doesn't matter unless equipment needs to be replaced. I was taking liberty to support my anger with the Blazers and Comcast over this absurd situation. B) Ad rates are based in part on number of potential consumers reached. Nothing to do with HD, but the less eyeballs that can watch, the less you can ultimately charge. C) I am surprised, however, that the Holton/Luftkin show continues. I imagine that will end shortly.
I enjoyed the snow... not anymore! Snow keeping me from Trail Blazers in HD is crossing the line! BAD SNOW! BAD SNOW! Oh well. I'll survive. PAC 10 football is also on right now. WOO HOO.
Hi-tech, lo-tech, take your pick, cuz you can't teach an old dog a brand new trick! Just another loss in a game we should win - setting up our ritual mutilation and humiliation by the Celts. Gee - do I sound depressed? (Bonus points for anybody who knows where the opening lines come from.)
