blazer fans like teh word potential...its just that none of our players ever live up to it. very typical...pass on a guy like lee...lets keep the scrubs lee would be a fan favorite in portland. he would be great on a good team but nah...lets wait till next year and hope bayless develops lol or maybe aldridge finally bangs...or maybe outlaw will get smart. pass on lee lol
No, I don't. So, if the Knicks will take Ike and Frye for Lee, I'd do it in a New York minute. Unfortunately, something tells me they'll want more than our garbage in return. BNM
So its Lee's fault the rest of his team sucked?!? KG with the Wolves Redd with the Bucks Bosh on the Raptors Jason Richardson with the Bobcats (when he was) B. Diddy on the Clippers Kevin Martin on the Kings OJ Mayo on Memphis Do they all suck too?
LEE IS ESTABLISHED.... established is a bad word here and if kp is so good...he cn find a wy to keep lee. honestly lee might be better then aldridge
Lee isn't established any more than Aldridge, so unless you want us to get rid of LaMarcus, you're going to be paying 8+ million a year for a backup PF who plays ~15 minutes a night. Awesome idea MIXUM, just awesome.
im saying that having LA and LEE uld be the past pf tandem in the nba and haveing joel and oden would be the best center tandem. if we could ever get a real sf...it would be a sick team and if roy could stay healthy.
http://www.theknicksblog.com/2009/01/04/blazers-getting-ready-to-move-in-on-lee this guy claims t have broken the story on zachs deal and marbury
Yes, that could possibly be true. But I'm sure KP is smart enough not to overpay a guy who would play limited minutes, and pout.
A deal for Lee would make sense if money is more important to Lee than starting. And if the Knicks have no better offers. Paul Allen would obviously have to promise to pay Lee what the market provided, and then some. In return, Lee would have to make it clear that 10-15 minutes (20 max) of backing up LaMarcus Aldridge is sufficient. Even if all that could be agreed upon, from the Blazers' perspective, I think it's a little early to give up on Jerryd Bayless (who's got the talent and drive to be a starter at either guard position, potentially) and whomever else it'd take to get Lee. But ultimately, I think the Knicks will find a better deal for Lee, from a team looking for a starting PF (rather than the Blazers who'll only value him as a backup).
he is a restricted free agent after this year so we can match any offer. if we do this deal, and also trade rlec, channing, ike, etc, for long term salary, we can go over the cap to resign our own players (lee).
Lee is a quality player for sure. The only way I can really see this working is if one of Przybilla or LaMarcus is moved. One way or another, if Lee comes to Portland then it means there is a 3 forward/center rotation of Oden, LMA/Przy, Lee. Anybody else recalling shades of Brian Grant paired up with Sheed? I loved that rotation.
nick..no. first of all oden is a foul machine. lee will always get playing time. LA is alos a foul machine. pryz is hurt...we need this trade badly.
denver is talking chucky atkins and a couple picks for lee. or klieza. we do not need to add bayless to this deal.
We could always run a frontcourt lineup of Lee, LMA, and Oden...we know Aldridge is good at guarding the perimeter. Not to mention we would still have the RLEC to go out and do work!
LaMarcus is not a foul machine. Good god, do you even watch the games? As for Przy being hurt, that is definitely a factor this year, but in the stretch you've got figure that Lee is worthy of 25-30 minutes a night and unless he picks up spot minutes at the 3 there are only 96 minutes to be divvied up between 3 or 4 guys at the pf and c spot. Eventually Oden is going to get smarter about fouling (we hope), LMA is probably always going to be a 36+ minutes guy, so unless Joel eventually doesn't mind racking up 6 to 10 minute outings sprinkled in with DNPs, getting Lee means shuffling some furniture.
