Not supportable by fact or stats.

IMO he played admirably on an injury the team brought him back too soon from.

    Deja Vu.

I don't understand the NBA rule. Miles played in 2 games without his leg imploding. Isn't that enough proof that it wasn't a career ending injury?

That's why an objective third party ruled his injury to be "career ending"?

Sorry, but anyone who thinks signing Miles to an extension was a mistake, doesn't remember the season he had for us after we traded for him. It was a different Darius that year. He attacked the rim. He played defense. He rebounded. He scored the ball. Everyone wanted him back the next season, and his contract wasn't THAT pricey.

Yup. It wasn't even the injury...its just his lazy attitude when he came back. boo'ed rightfully by the fans for WALKING on offense. Darius was one of my favorite blazers until I saw his sorry lazy ass on the court where he didn't want to play.

It wouldn't take 2 games necessarily. It could be a full season or more. The guy could be doing irreparable damage to his knee as we speak. I never read the report on him, so I'm not going to pretend to understand exactly why his injury was deemed "career ending".

A sigh of relief for Blazer fans until the next team picks him up. I'm actually finding some sick fascination over this whole Miles affair when it comes to fan reaction. Maybe it's coupled with all the bridge-jumping over the present team that has peeked my curiosity. It's like watching leaves get blown in every direction.

I'm glad Portland's cap space is one step closer to being much bigger, but if Darius can play there's nothing that can be done about it. No sense wasting emotion over something that doesn't qualify as being cheated.

I get it, you don't much care for me and I don't much care for you, but you're turning into kind of a gimmick poster.

Darius mailed it in before the injury, but right after he got the big extension. Them's the facts (and I'm not referring to statistical production, I'm talking about the way he played).

I see no reason to hate Miles. But ..... "It was silly for the Blazers to claim otherwise" Really? So you are saying there was a conspiracy between the Blazers and the league appointed doctor who examined him? Now that's seems silly. And bringing Paul's bankrupcy into it???? His salary will go back on the Blazer's books for Salary Cap purposes, but correct me if i am wrong, the insurance company will still pay the bill. Either way I think it was wise what the Blazers did. Miles gets his money either way. And he can play if he is able. What am i missing here.

Maris doesn't much like anyone. I think he's trying to take on the persona of his namesake. Go watch 61 and you'll get the picture.

Um... this has nothing to do with money at all. The Blazers are paying Miles' contract, and will continue to do so no matter what happens. This is about cap space, which, while denominated in dollars, is not actually money.

All right who's the next idiot GM to sign this guy to a 10-day contract, and try to screw the Blazers? Kevin McHale, is that you lining up still bitter about Foye for Roy?

Can't be Kevin, he's no longer a GM. Otherwise, I'm sure he'd be all over it.

He's got a lot of pull in that franchise though. I'm sure he's thought of it and if he wanted, could pull it off. All the teams we've Pritch-slapped the past few years are prime candidates.

Any other teams we might be competing for free agents with? Those are the teams that have the biggest reason to try to ruin our cap space. Or maybe one of the top teams could try to keep us from joining them on top.

I don't really know many teams setting up for cap space for 2009, seems like everyone in the league except us is setting themselves up for their disappointment in 2010 as if five teams are going to split LeBron in fifths.

On the news I seen Miles block a shot and he sure got up there to block it and it looked effortlessly. Actually surprised me. I'm sure he's going to get picked up by someone on at least a 10 day contract.
