IMO Nash is the perfect fit for this team. A guy who can create and makes the game (offense) easier for his teammates. No more worries about trying to get Oden the ball he knows how to get his teammates easy shots. There's a reason why so many players have had career years while playing with him. Look at how much Marion's game has dropped after he left Phoenix.

The question becomes, how long can Nash keep this level up? Does it correspond to us competing for championships? If it doesn't, is it worth taking him in order to give other guys good looks, with the risk of a dropoff after he leaves?

Nash is a guy who keeps himself in excellent shape. Reminds me of Stockton I think he'll be able to play well into his late 30's. He can be a stop gap for now and by the time he's done we'll hopefully have someone ready to fill his shoes (Bayless). Nash instantly makes your offense better, defensively he's going to hurt you but IMO it,s worth it.

Yeah, in the past I'd be concerned with his defense, but seeing Blake/Sergio, I don't think it really matters.

He does take care of himself, but he's already lost a step (or at least a half step) He's not the same guy who won back to back MVP's. He's still really good, don't get me wrong. But how much will he have in the tank at the end of NEXT year? He'll be 35 next month, meaning he'll be 36-37 during the 2010-11 season.

We only need 2-3 years out of him. Enough time to develop a player behind him like Bayless or even Sergio. The thing with Nash is he's one of the few players in the league capable of making average players have career years. Our young players need a guy like this that can get them easy looks on offense and can help take some pressure off Roy.

Actually look at how much a lot of former Sun's production has dropped (Nash included) since D'Antoni left. Nash is breaking down fast with his bad back and at 34-35 it's only going to get worse.

Bibby would be "keen," he's meshed beautifully with Joe Johnson -- ATL's version of Brandon Roy.

    That's a good point. I didn't think about that.

I like Bibby, he's a competitor and you're right he has meshed nicely with Johnson. Haven't seen him play much lately so I'm not sure how much if any of an upgrade he is over Blake.
